I'm making a mod called Before the Storm and it's set in the time period between RA and TD, about five years or so before the mereor strike at the river tiber. I sort of had a story line planned but after reading the article C&C tiberium twilight it will need some durasitc changes to make it viable. Even better, i'm probably going to avoid writing one all together for the moment and let your imaginations run wild in regards to the connections between RA and TD lol. Though if anyone wants to write one, there more than welcome to. Russia is influenced by nod and the allies are all part of the UN still. I'm also including China, Iran and Iraq. I also have some concepts posted in the new mod name topic of this forum.

Dude... Did you make that... "Title" In M.S Paint? Neutral
If so, then remove it and begin again, take your time on these things dude, and don't rush into modding if you're not that sure on how to do some things...
(Yeah... I know i rushed into Aro's rules, but thats only, minor .ini editing) Smile

I'll start with the basics anyway.

The sides:

USA, UK, Germany, France, Australia (my home country Razz ), Russia, China, Iran and Iraq. Each side will have it's own camo scheme and will include most of their realistic vehicles. To keep things interesting i will include technologies that are relevant for the era between RA and TD.

Ok so i'll start with the US units, their mostly what you can expect etc, the ones that have been used to death Wink . They are:

Hummer
Bradly
Abrams
Paladin
MLRS
Stryker
M163 Vulcan
M901 Tow
M113
and all their generic aircraft.

UK:

PANTHER
STORMER
CHALLENGER 2
AS90 BRAVEHEART
MLRS
M113
WORRIOR

Australia:

Landrover
ASLAV
ABRAMS
CEASAR
M113
UNI MOG
BUSH MASTER

Germany:

MARDER
LEOPARD 2
PHZ 2000
MARS
FUCHS 2
GEOPARD
ROLAND
LUCHS
JAGUAR

France:

VEXTRA 105
LECLERC
CEASAR
MLRS
VBCI
VBCI 8*8

Russia:

UAZ
BMP
T-90
MT-LB
SMERCH
BTR-60
URAL
SHILKA
9K33 STRELA-1

China:

HUMMER (variant)
T89 HOWITZER
T85
W2551 DRAGAR
W2551 HOWITZER
W2551 AMBULANCE
ZiL131 troop carrier
ZiL135 MLRS
HOCUM

Iraq:

Technical
BMP
T-72
BTR-60
SHILKA
SU-25

Iran:

Technical
BMP
T-80
BTR-60
SHILKA

This list is not complete as of yet but i want to focus on quality and purpose for the vehicles in this mod rather than sheer numbers. Each unit must have a specific job and incorporating these with each other should require alittle tactics but enjoyment shouldn't be sacrificed for ultra realism. Though i'll be focusing on realistic sounds, terrain and weapon effects.

When i did this i was still mainly in the planning stages of the mod, so i mostly was testing the features TS had to offer but like i said in one of IVI's post i had to eventually move it to RA2 so the rotors will be supported. It's a shame really but it had to be done. I think that the TS terrain is way better than that in RA2 so i'll have to find a way of converting the terrain to RA2 somehow. I know that TS reloaded has done this but i dont want to just use their files, we'll i could i guess i'd just have to ask. I dont know if that's the right thing to do though.

The German 'hummer' is called a Dingo and is actually much better armored stock than any humvee has yet to be.

That seems to be the trend these days concerning wheeled APCs and jeeps. Don't forget though that the dingo, panther and the bushmaster have only come out recently where as the hummer has been out for around 25 - 30 years. These will all be part of the mod.

Lol hardly an embarrasment. Ok i was once part of the RAA (Royal Australian Artillery), or still am technically up until next week. And who knows when but Australia is thinking of updating the RAA with newer vehicles ie, the Ceasar, which is a wheeled 155mm self propelled gun made by the french. The axles are very similar to the mogs so our mechanics shouldn't have much trouble changing and it can be used on our roads with out damaging them and with out specialised transports via mack trucks. So there very cost effective to the ADF. But who knows when the RAA will recieve them, thats even if they ever do. But for the purposes of this mod i'll say that we have them becuse personally, i think they'll get them eventually lol.

Oh and i also must say, some of those concepts look really nice too, they would make some really good RA2 units, In my opinion... I'm hoping that is exactly what you have in mind too. Smile

LOL yeah i hate that, they change their mind everyday. But for the purposes of the mod that's based between RA and TD, variations are more than acceptable . So i'll have to choose one. I'll choose the Bofors Archer which is an absolute beast.

The remap's only done in red in the voxel editor. The actual colour changes ingame depending on your side colour as you may already know, though for the selectable colours i'll try to make them so that they tie in with the camo schemes. Yeah i'm having trouble deciding between the two, remaps are important so i need them somewhere but no remaps look pretty good. Tough choice Smile. Some ingames will be coming soon once I finish more units.

Here is the Russian adats weapon system thatll be used. The origional voxel was done bt Harv and both tanks above where found in either voxel lib 1 or 2, still not quite sure who did that yet. Thought all modifications, textures and remaps were done by me. Later on i'll make the radar spin on the turred once there is a good portion of the mod done.

The yellows too yellow on the abrams, and think the remaps a bit much. Russians look fine though.

Yeah i see where your coming from in regards to the brown/yellow, It's meant to be brown but the lighting has made it yellowish. So ill experiment with some other colours and see what comes up. Also more units will be coming soon as well like the BMP and the BTR-60, also the m113 and the paladin spg. And ppl also the infs wont be staying for much longer either.

I'm ignoring nothing let alone changing the story. This has nothing to do with the direct involvement of GDI and is before the surfacing of nod. Many smaller battles, coups and revolts occured after the Great world war 2 as the canon puts it. Also there may have been smaller scale wars that the UN wasn't involved in and there was still deasert storm. For we all know there may have also been a vietnam equivilent. This mod will just meld in and provide some insite into the era between RA and TD let alone some interesting conflicts. Besides you may see some dark, undisclosed figures blow up key installations or hinder your progress in the night, who knows.

I see. It could be nice if the O.G.E/B.O.9 would perform some stealth operations (for allied factions) during the campaign however.
Nod doesn't have to be involved with any battles, but I think it would be interesting to get some small hints of Nod's existence during the campaign (maybe a couple small and sneaky attacks which are over before the player can even respond or a Nod unit quickly retreating upon discovery).

Yeah the origional voxel was done by RLY_BiG_tank, which is prbly why it looks so good, though i retextured it and put the remaps on it. All of the voxels will be public for the time being until i develope some exceptional voxeling skills. Though after this mod i'm going 3d.
