Subject description: Patch in the day one!

What happens when a group of 100+ people need to create a kick ass EA game in about one year? The game gets released, but it certainly won't be tested enough. But don't blame EA for that, because, unfortunatelly, it's happening to every game. Games are getting more complex and, consequently, with more problems than they should have.

At least, EA is doing their job on properly support the game so far by patching in the same day it was officially released in their region. So, here's the patch 1.1 info:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Exploits:
· Scrin Mastermind's Teleport Units ability maximum range reduced.
· GDI Engineers, Nod Saboteurs, and Scrin Assimilators can no longer capture structures when under the effects of the Scrin's Phase Field ability.

Optimizations:
· Improved video playback on low-end system configurations.

Balance Changes:
· Scrin Storm Column cost / build time increased to 3,000 credits / 30 seconds.
· Scrin Buzzer health reduced to 75 and weapon damage changed to SNIPER.

Bug Fixes:
· Fixed an error that would occasionally result in a crash in Nod vs. Nod matches on the multiplayer map Deadly Sertao.
· Fixed issues with automated map transfer ability in multiplayer.
· Fixed an error that would sometimes cause a Commentator's telestrator drawings to not erase when intended during BattleCast matches.
· Fixed issues with replay file playback.
· Fixed placeholder text and chat log errors with the Comrade in- game chat window.

Other Changes:
· References to Nod's "Avatar Warmech" unit have been changed to "Avatar".
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update it only through the online update at the Multiplayer part of the game, or you may possibly get some problems.

This is what so far all Command & Conquer fan sites will post, right? However, there is an extra tip for the Windows 2000 users. You can run the patched game in your machine. Here's how:

1) Install CNC3 v1.0 from DVD
2) Install Xenkan patch
3) Run Command & Conquer 3
4) Choose Multiplayer -> Online
5) CNC3 will install v1.1 patch
6) Install Xenkan patch again

By the way, this patch is far from perfection. There are several multiplayer problems to be fixed in the next patch and EA is already working on it. There is also an upcoming patch in late april that will add left mouse click from previous C&C games and new maps.

rofl... didn't the game get officially released today?
but I agree to ChielScape here, at least they care and react quickly on shortcomings.

I'll receive the game in about a week, it's getting shipped from Malaysia... hey, it's cheaper there, even with the shipping costs included! #Tongue

And the German version will probably feature cyborgs again like TD, RA1, TS and "Generäle".... so no reason getting that one tomorrow.

No, your wrong:
the normal (german) TW only has 2 changes:
nuke missile is renamed and fanatics are changed (they dont blow up anymore, instead they place a bomb an disapear)

the german Kane-Edition has no changes (and its number is not limited like in other countrys... Wink )

To be honest the current mouse system works better in a true 3D environment.

You can move units to where other units are and because the move and select commands are different buttons you don't end up selecting units instead of moving them.

All left click was fine for a 2D game which worked in cells, but it's time for a change.

To be honest it's a matter of personal taste, not what you find efficient. I'd prefer the left click system.

they both take some getting used to when switching to/from one another, yet neither is superior.
