Meh, I have heard that Mental Omega AI is quite brutal. Sends waves. Nuff said.
But, I have also heard it uses the multi-factory "cheat".
If an AI can kick your ass without building 2 or more units simultaneously, then that is a good AI.

If an AI can kick your ass by building 2 or more units simultaneously, then that AI may be good, but it is safe to expect lowered performance should this be removed.

As for best AI, good AI is not possible without it harshly cheating. (breaking prerequisites, building cheaper "AI versions", multi-factory)

BTW- OrcaCommander- My AI destroys me occasionally. Then again, I just suck. #Tongue

Mental Omega has a very formidible AI, especially when you play Meteor Swarm. I'd nominate MO for the best YR AI. For RA2, even though it might be the only great mod out for RA2 I can think of, BeoWulf's Rules has a very challenging AI, leaving you no room to make careless errors. I'd definately nominate BWR for best RA2 AI.

As for TS, I don't plays it, no interest in the gameplay factor. I wouldn't know which is the hardest.

Sorry but I have not played any of the mods mentioned but Deezire 8.0 AI owns big time! Surprised . It runs me over totaly.

The only problem I have with it is that its very hard to reverse engineer it becaus he did not name any AITriggers, TaskForces, Scripts or TeamTypes of what they contain or do. (I want to use it in my personal mod)

Just frigging check the size of the AImd.ini filesize OMG its 1.64Mb !

By the way DCoder work on the AIEditor Razz

Deezires AI was pretty good..but for that file size it should have been far better. My AI is only 366kb (Ra2 & Tiberian sun's AI's combined) and its very tough.

And djohe notepad is your friend Smile , but yes AIEditor could use a few minor fixes.

The AI by defaults cheats on brutal by getting a higher ore/ore purfier value from payloads.

The AI has clone wars because humans can simply build more factories without issues unlike AI

Exactly, I dont like that. You can use it, but I think that an AI that can hammer you without having to have "clone wars" is a good AI.

Beowulfs Rules sends SEALs before requisites are met, right?

I someone has an aimd ai (scripts) I'll download it right now. If it’s another rulesmd ai keep it.

aimd = thought/effort
rules = ai builds more faster = easy = lame

I woudln't think it is fair to add your own mod in this vote... Alough, Aro's rules normal enemy was pretty hard... Not as hard as Mental Omega's Brutal though, oh no no, It was always. "Aro has been owned" that kept popping up at the top of the screen. Neutral Ouch!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHahahahahaha!

Yeah right. MO's AI cheats like the worst I've ever seen. Just get a spy in one of the AI refineries and you can live on that by the end of the game.

So make up your goddamn peanut sized brain, is this supposed to be a topic where people discuss various AI styles, which is actually interesting, or a topic where you, in your typical arrogant fashion, declare your opinion to be the law and ignore all arguments otherwise, in which case I can just throw the thread into the garbage. I'm not kidding.

It's TS, not RA2, but the Novus Ordo AI is pretty damn good. Granted it cheats a fair bit but it usually tries to go for the jugular and takes out your cash supply and production facilities. They avoid major threats and rush in large groups. It's probably the best AI I've played against in a TS mod. Not having played RA2 or its mods in a long time I honestly can't talk about them. At the end of it, what really defines a good AI? One that can trounce human players or one that acts human?

One that acts like a human and has the same stuff as a Human player, yet able to defeat most opponents and use a multitude of tactics, thus making the challenge interesting.

there is no such thing as a good ai in the world yet guys. since humans has the will to think before they act like "should i attack there? what if he has made a trap". the ai is only good if it makes massive waves of armys in ra2 and to do that it must cheat, the ai in mental omega wasnt made for reality but to be a challenge. there isnt one game in ra2 that has fantastic ai that dosent cheat. even the original ra2 ai cheats, i saw so many flaws in the ai, the ai made a kirov in the begining of the game when it only had a warfactory and a barracks with a conyard and a refinery. the only way to make an ai good is to make it make so much units at once but other than that it will use the same path like instead of going round to the weak side of the base it goes strieght in and dies.

just try playing YR on brutal while enabling the COM Generals with placing AI.TLB (renamed AIMD.TLB) in the RA2 folder. On lower tech level maps it will kick ass with default AImd.ini

In my opinion, great AI comes from the ability to counter any attack no matter how big or small even if they fail..just the effort alone makes it a truly "thinking" AI

Yeah, i remember that... Having about 40 "Trauma Tanks" Heading towards me before i'd even gotten my technology center... That was fun to watch. Laughing

And, El D34dlyto... From speaking to you on MSN, i've pretty much gathered that you dislike, Mental Omega... Care to share the reason why with us? (And no, what you said above did not clear enough up... Heh, i'll try that tactic #Tongue)

have to say Mental Omega.

Brutel crushed me in seconds, SCONDS! (gamespeed fast)

But if all modders worked togheter at one AI.ini file, that would be a allright AI, right?

Anyone that attempts good "AI" without cheating in TS/RA2/YR is clearly misguided as the AI engine and script are prehistoric ...
