I have no idea what i'm doing. I'm in the INI editor for FA2 but it is confusing as all hell. Is there an easier editor? After reading some stuff on here i think i know how to do stuff, but dont know where to put/apply the code to make the mod work. Haha, i'm so confused i dont know what questions to ask to help myself out. Is there a tutorial i can read/watch? Or can someone give me the run down on how to get things going?

100% clueless..

Can anyone help a poor newb out? Been makin maps on FA2 for 2 years now and just found out you can mod stuff haha.

What exactly are you trying to do? Just modding in general, or do you just want to edit some certain things?
What i advise you do, is download the RA2 INI Files from somewhere, and read through the "RA2 Rules.INI", and learn what the certain codes mean...
Say you want to give the GI better armour (Or something else really simple like that), either open your map out in wordpad, or simply use the INI Editor (Which i myself, find it easier than playing around in wordpad), and enter the following.

[E1]
Strength=500

Yeah?? You just need to learn what each code means... Alough with the inparticular thing i posted above is complete and utter crap... Who'd give a GI That much armour anyhow?

Where are the Rules.INI files at of the map? Because when i go to where i have the map saved, right click then go to open with and i select note pad or word pad it comes up with ALOT of random nothingness. Just a whole bunch of unorganized random letters and numbers.

You just go to the bottom of all the random stuff & then put your Codes at the bottom.

eg..

148=Neutral,NANRCT,256,94,11,64,None,1,0,1,0,0,None,None,None,0,0

vv THEN THIS IS WHERE YOU PUT YOUR CODES. vv

Don't put all of the entry in, just what you want to change.

i would recemend looking at mod maps ini section and learn what they did and make a map and see what different happens. its how i learned.

How can i edit paradrop recharge time in INI Edit Final Alert 2 YR?

1. I dont remember the name as should be added to the list.
2. I dont remember the sub-name as should be added into the INI Editing file name.

ParaDropSpecial enter that code

RechargeTime=4 enter that under the name above

and change 4 to what you desire. for america

AmericanParaDropSpecial and do the same recharge code i listed above, the charge time is used for all superweapons.

How can i change the cost of thoose buildings:
- Allied, Soviet and Yuri Battle lab.
- Grand Cannon.
- Allied, Soviet and Yuri War Factory.
- Nuclear Missile and Iron Curtain.
- Weather Controller Device and Chronosphere.
- Apocalypse, Prism, Master Mind and Floating Disc.
- Genetic Mutator and Psychic Dominator. Question

I konw that thoose codes must be added into Generel, but what is there names?

First of all, either extract rulesmd.ini using XCC Editor, or get the YR File pack from RADEN or somewhere...

You can look for whatever you need in the rulesmd.ini file.
