is there anything in photoshop imageready or xcc mixer that converts a gif into saparate PNGs?

Never used Photoshop, but GIMP opens a gif as layers, from which you can then isolate the desired one, and save as an image.

well thanks for that but i dont want to get anymore programs on my famly computer. so if anyone knows anything about photoshop imageready or xcc mixer please tell me Confused

No, if you have photoshop you don't need GIMP, I'm saying I'd be very surprised if photoshop doesn't do the same thing #Tongue

Irfan view can dump the files as individual files, and from there can be converted to PNG without any hassle.

Use Image Ready (comes with PS) Open gif, export as png.

that should work, or open the .gif in imageready, and then click the open in photoshop tab (if you have CS2) and you can go to WIndow > Animation, and copy each visible layer into a new image.
