Subject description: Now we can make maps!

Hello everyone! The World Builder, the official C&C3 map editor, is finally online! So, our friend APOC was correct when he said that it would be released in this week. If you've previously played with the one that came with Generals, it works pratically in the same way. As far as I could try, it's cool... but you really need to read the manual, because it's not that intuitive. Move through the map using the right click and dragging the mouse. Add the skirmish players in the edit player list and don't forget to add the tiberium and the starting positions... and a final advise to newbies: There will be an Object Properties window that may look like it will bother you, but it's actually important. That is where you'll be able to select the texture tiles, objects, waypoints and other things to place in the map. The only bad thing is that, if the screen resolution is low, it will blind you... but don't worry... just move it to the bottom of the screen, rescue that when you need and you'll be fine.

World Builder is a simple 8mb download at THIS SECRET LOCATION. It comes with an extensive and very useful manual. Here's a screenie taken by our agents:

I also need to figure out what is this so called data driven AI they told me in the summit. So far, it looks like the same AI style edition of Zero Hour, relying on scripts and that big .scb file.

Anyway, start playing with it and we'll start a map archive here very soon!

I on't care if this is a dumb question, but does it require CNC3 to be installed? (even if it's the demo?)

Of course it does. How do you think that a 8mb program reads all the resources from the game? Wink

I hope the AI isn't going to be as inefficient and bottlenecked as ZH . If so we might have to make clean up mod to stream line it.

No, Gecko... breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's using miserable 1.1gb of RAM here Laughing. It's certainly a memory leak.. a serious one.

Place WayPoints, then in the object properties box, make sure you change the WayPoint X to Player X Start Location...
