Yea I know I'm a total dumbass noob for posting without first testing it myself.

1) Cloning the Hunter Seeker special, then change the HS unit to something invisible and deploys to fire.

2) The structure build up animation looks like the Dropship coming in, kinda like how the RoTD air strikes work, its just an animation and not a real Dropship.

3) Free unit comes out from it and the building does a harmless self-destruct to remove itself from the game.

Cons
- The target is random
- Just 1 free unit

Meh, any thoughts?

It would go to somewhere random and would probably end up being destroyed before you found where it ended up. During the buildup animation the building could get destroyed anyway.

I'm afraid the cons are too numerous.

Couldn't you make the seeker have a long range weapon so it is ready to attack the whole map instantly after being launched?

You know, you could give it an artillery cannon and keep it set to automatically shoot at things. Also, it should do the same thing as the artillery when its set on guard. That way, it'll automatically bring itself into the proper range but you run the chance of it deploying in the middle of their base.

Oooh! I just remembered! If you use "A Dying World" mod, you can give it semmi-nuclear capabilities or that it will go out with a BIG bang.

I have no idea what you are saying honestly.

Anyway I think Dropships can work for RA2, since there's the spawn system over there.

Or we'll use this idea for something else...

- A buildable invisible Hunter Seeker, it will fly to a random target.
- It deploys to fire its weapon, which is nothing more than a harmless self-destruct. The deploying animation looks like a Carryall with a MMKII flyng in. The self-destruct animation looks like the Carryall flying off.
(Make the building untargettable and give a corny excuse like it has a shield)
- Free unit is the MMKII, which is coded to search and destroy like in TSTW.

Yea the idea is just like TSTW, but it looks cooler being brought in from the air.
