Finally a PPM Community News!
Subject description: My mastermind is overloaded, but I'm still keeping PPM coverage! Covering 14/05
Hello again, Foremen and Forewomen! Sorry for giving less attention to PPM in these days. I'll have two tests for the uni soon and I'm still starting to study. Too bad that both subjects are quite hard and I need to do a lot of exercises to get ready for them and, yea, I still have that damn article. That Kirov is looking better in the last picture that I've showed here. Since then, I've made the function to smooth it and... let's say... 'disguise the error'. The fact is that smoothing the normals, you just increase the error. So, there isn't much progress in this sense. So, my creative mind has another idea which sounds much more reasonable. Instead of asking the user for a range and get the points from this range, I'll find which parts of the surface that the point being analysed belongs. The result is suposed to be more acurate, however, expect the auto normals function in any future VXLSE III to be a lot heavier than what you're used to.
Anyway, it's time for some cool news of the things that happened in these days:
-> At the CnC Editing Tools forum, Shur has announced the Ultra Build 0.1. It's a script for 3dsmax that merges the TS Build and RA Build and it setup the camera and some other rendering options to make the job of rendering your building and transforming it into SHP a piece of cake job. So, it's a must have tool for any TS and RA2 modder out there. Ultra Build 0.1 setups the background, camera, grids, lighting, isometry and much more.
-> Eva251 has posted a huge development blog about Star Strike, a total conversion that will make the remaining allied and soviets defend the Earth together against a major alien invasion and the Star Strike forces as well. There was a lot of progress on that mod, from new units for the humans and the aliens and also, new superweapons. OK, the nuke isn't that new... just received some touches. But the particle cannon in the picture below looks very interesting.
-> There is also a dev blog from Project Exodus, written by Jabberwoky (Gangster), the mod leader. It is not as big as the one from Star Strike, but it shows some of the new vehicles that are being modelled by SaneDisruption and the story behind the mod. Here's some pictures:
-> Derelict Soil received some goodies in the beggining of the month. The picture below shows the new MCV and the new RAGE and Fury vehicles. The terrain you see there is work in progress. And no, this is not a TS mod! Check more details in this topic.
And there is more... but I'll post the other news later. I have a lot to study. QUICK_EDIT
