It has been months since we merged the two pieces of the Tacticus; yet we are still unable to figure what exactly is in that data core. My team is getting demoralized every time we encounter a new unidentified data stream. It seems that some of the data on the Tacticus is coded, or at least written in a language none of my scientists can understand. The Philadelphia promised to send a team of scientists to our laboratory to help us decipher the Tacticus… I hope they really can help us…

April 13, 2037

… We spent years… 6 years long years to solve the secret of the Tacticus, and we could find nothing to help us stop that creature. Thousands of scientists and countless data processors worked for 6 years… and we found nothing. I fear no living person of machine can make sense of the data we recovered. The only ones who could actually translate the data on the Tacticus were Tratos and Cabal, and both of them are gone now. Needless to say that GDI has given up on us, the top command claims that the billions of dollars they feed into our research team, each year, could be used someplace else. They decided to shut down our project yesterday, GDI personal are arriving tomorrow to take the Tacticus and whatever little data we managed to recover from that damn sphere. I’ve spoken to Paul, hoping he could help me or, at least convince the top command to give us time. He said that even he could do nothing to change their mind. I will be returning back home tomorrow, sit in my small lab and try to stop Tiberium the old fashioned way: analyzing tiberium crystals all day long…

It’s gone! The Tacticus is gone! The GDI convoy that was transferring it was ambushed on its way to the airfield. The GDI couldn’t even spare more people to guard the Tacticus! Obviously they are going to cover everything up, not many people knew the Tacticus even existed, and now it’ll all be noted as some minor incident, and will be buried within the GDI archives. It was our last chance to save earth, but now its gone, and I doubt GDI are going to spend any real effort to look for the Tacticus. The strange thing is… one of the scientists, who were on the convoy, claims that they were attacked by a group of mutants and cyborgs. I don’t understand this, there were rumors of mutant attacks on GDI and Civilian outposts throughout the years… but no one really saw the mutants since they began their self-imposed exile years ago; and now they appear, and undermine the only thing that can cure them… and why would they team up with Cabal’s minions? Cabal’s cyborgs were using the mutants to perform experiments, why would the mutants ally with their sworn enemies? None of this makes any sense…

Hypocritical bastards, all around me! I needed an inner circle to keep the Brotherhood together in Kane’s absence, I DID NOT need a bunch of impotent fools whose only goal is to gain power. Granted, they are much easier to manipulate than the previous inner circle, but they do get on my nerves sometimes. None of them seem to be able to make strategic decisions, as a result the GDI are kicking our asses on all fronts… To bad Cabal is not around anymore… he could solve this problem. Not only that I have to deal with the inner circle, now I have another problem: Some religious fanatics within the ranks of the Brotherhood spread religious propaganda, they are causing strife and unrest among the soldiers. I myself had to pull apart two officers in the mass hall today. I need to focus on keeping the Brotherhood together, just until Kane returns to lead the brotherhood once more, I will not have the brotherhood breaking up again!
I have dispatched a unit of Black Hand soldiers to confirm a rumor about another of Cabal’s Cores in North India, they encountered something that frightened them to death; too bad they all died before they managed to send me a report. I am going there tomorrow, personally, to see what they have found.
