Update.
Subject description: Dev-blog
Greetings pplz.
I have a small update for now.
As usual busy off doing real life stuff, coursework, which now involves working on an 3d animation and among other thingsf. I am sure many people know how that goes.
however I have been working among the shadows, organizing secret meetings to take over the world and sell america to grey reptoids but I been also busily working on a new revised script or storyline. I finally got it to my liking. It does change some perceptions on how I originally portrayed this mod before. However I feel confident about its potential and will definately post more information as soon as I get the chance.
Also the question has arisen if I shall move onto a different engine.
I love the 2d sprite feel and look but thats as an artist and as a old time C&C player. As mod dev. I also want to take advantages the new features of the engines that are out there (C&C3 to name one of them)..but its new water for myself to tread and fairly new to the rest of the modding community as well.
Although with the announcement of RP2, I am still mainly leaning towards sticking with RA2:YR.
So I am curious if what do you people think. Move on. or stay? I would like to hear out some well thought out suggestions.
Until next time.

If I were you, I'd head straight for C&C3. Looking at your ideas, it would grant you so much more freedom: nice FX effects that make RA2 particles look like kindergarten toys, 3D models that don't need being converted into an inferior format, large maps that utilize textures instead of stupid TMP's (No need to overhaul the entire terrain batch), and stuff that is way more interactive and moddable. I'd say RA2 just to be able to play it, but by the time this mod is finished, I'll prolly have either an 8800 GTX and other nice doodads on my desk, heheh.

I believe what RA2 is still an engine you search for... hovewhere titanmk2 is somewhat right - The CnC 3 engine will do a great job for the mod. But he also brings another thing:C&C needs quiet a system - while RA 2 allows more people (as most of comunity still on crappy comps ) to enjoy it. _________________ DUNK! QUICK_EDIT
So this a preemptive strike on figuring how can I portray the story in terms of the engine..Well I don't own a copy of C&C3 yet, but I am not committing to production before I get a chance to play it and I am still in the midst of trying to flesh out major details.
but another thing what about other choices such as Renegade, generals or another game that is not C&C? _________________ Delirium.. QUICK_EDIT
The problem with Renegade is the difficulty of modding. If I were you, I'd stay away from it. Besides, no other game that I know of supports this much moddability while keeping it easy. Then we also have the huge advantage of it being the same engine as Generals and BFME I and II. Modding it is a slight step up from your normal routine, but the rewards are great. QUICK_EDIT
I see. even members from moddb felt it would be better suited for C&C3..and well it does push back production dates indefinitely and now leaves a hold on development, but its in the best of the project to move forward.
In the mean time
I also have another mod project that I wanted to work on...its a much smaller scale, TS:FS mod that takes the spirit of the original iteration of Delirium.
If any one is willing to help that would be cool.

BTW about other engines you could wait for SC2; I'll do so, to compare which is better. And actually I'm leaning towards SC2, for it's impressive single player experience (if you have seen that video). Though it's likely that it won't be as modable (like in making a proper mod, not map-mods) as other games, which is common in Blizzard's games. QUICK_EDIT
yea. definately some kick ass stuff in SC2 and it was an option but C&C3 is out already, and people are getting familiar with it. While it is unknown how moddable it will be...but I believe it will be similar to wC3 but how similar?.. is to be known. _________________ Delirium.. QUICK_EDIT
I love the module system in the Sage-engine games. It seems like you can do so much. Like I said before, it takes a little while to get used to it, but the results are very professional if you have the 3D skills to bring your coding to life.
