Hey everyone. I'm having vacations from my university for some weeks already. I'm living my days of lazyness, playing games other than C&C3 (something that I hardly did during my class times), programming and enjoying my real life (yes, I have one!). I'm working on the OS BIG Editor 0.6 beta. Once finished, this version should definitelly save .BIG files with or without refpack compression and show the file contents in a more presentable way, among other random features.

Now, I know I haven't posted many news during this period. I've been kinda bored of posting news, to be honest. But this doesn't mean that I've stopped posting news, as you may have noticed. Anyway, regarding community news, PPM is not much out of date.

Our problems are really on the internal news. I don't know why I haven't posted that NCM Revolution 1.2 was released. This mod comes with 5 factions, which are GDI, Nod, National Civilian Militia and also the TD GDI and TD Nod, based on Renegade resources. This mod features awesome graphics and a lot of new units, maps, etc. This version comes with several graphic fixes as well as new graphics for some of the units. Also, GDI no longer uses the bureaucratic system of component towers. Several ballance changes and some redundant units removed. All features are listed HERE.

Head to this topic to download it.

Anwyay, while I don't cover internal news, let's get some of the community news:

Community Sites Ups and Downs:

-> Everybody posted a news when their site disappeared, however, people seemed to not have noticed that Derelict Studios are back, with an uglier temporary site and unskinned, but upgraded forums. Dispite the apparent regression, all mods are functional and there is a true new frontpage comming there in a later time.

-> CNC3.net has incorporated the articles system used on The 3rd Age. This means that, by using your Revora Forums account, you can advertise your mod, post and rate articles and files for the community. The site is much more interactive now. There is one shameless self promotion article writen by some evil individual who has advertised his modding tool to extract .BIG files. There are also 8 C&C3 modding programs for download, as well as the C&C3 demo and worldbuilder. So, if you wanna get prepared for the upcoming mod SDK, go there.

-> CnC Source should gain some activity now that Assassin is back. He moved from UK to Australia and got some ugly internet connection that was so slow that he could barely use MSN. Things got somewhat better now and he's gonna post some interesting progress on Tiberian Sun Rising and much more.

-> The C&C3 Portal of GameReplays has a new C&C3 blueish design. Looking good!

Community Events:

-> EZGaming is organizing a C&C3 1 vs 1 Tournament. You can inscribe there until august 7th (registered members only) and they are offering up to 100 pounds for the winner. That's a lot of money and it already attracted a lot of people. Unfortunatelly, as an unregistered user, I couldn't find much about the rules of this contest yet. Good luck for all those who participate on it, specially if you participate a lot of PPM forums Wink.

-> Do I need to remind you to send your C&C3 maps to the Open Map Competition 4? But make sure you send your best maps. This is a top notch competition, not a chance to get comments to improve your map. In this case, send your maps to our map archive.

Etc...

-> You can check the first season of Tiberium Lego on its special section at CNCNZ.com.

-> CNCDEN has some new C&C3 featured maps and one C&C3 'campaign' map... not really campaign, but it works more or less like one.

-> Only War has some new renders of some very well done Ork units.

-> YR Argentina has got some new voxels for grabs. Kudos for the police car from Tobias Boon.
