Agreed, looks quite ok. Don't see much of a change though.

I also agree, The original Orca models are too small and the Vxl editer only allows you to double the size and doesnt allow you to put a decimal i! I will try to improve it, but im afraid it means making one from scratch which will take ages! Im not comfortable with the way Vxl editor is setup but i want to learn!Very Happy

It's much easier to learn some good 3D program and convert the models into voxels.

When ViPr updates his program to handle the 3DS files that it outputs, you'll be able to use blender to make 3D models and its free.

For free 3D programs, google Blender, Wings3D, Anim8tor, the old Caligari Truespace 3 is also free. I'd suggest learning with Truespace, which is really simple and when you make good models in it, go to Blender which is one of the best 3D programs out there.
On the other hand, since Truespace is 10 years old, you need to chain export the files trough these programs to get models 3ds2vxl can read.
If you feel you can stomach the Blender's GUI (hard to learn, but extremely helpful once you are used to it), learn it right away.

Thats a knee jerk reaction, once you get used to the fact that it doesn't work the same way as a standard windows UI, its actually quite easy to use, its just very different. Go to The Blender Wiki and work through some of the n00b to pro wikibook, particularly the modeling section. If you get stuck on how to do something or it seems something went wrong I can probably advise on how to fix it. Just never press the P key on its own.

Well, it's really, really old. If you're using Vista, it probably won't work (but I don't, so I can't confirm that). Try compatibility modes with Win2000/NT/98/95, it worked on my 98/XP.

Anyway, Blender's much better.
