Here is the Anubis, the nod flying dreadnought.
What I planned was to have him always flying with a aa/ag turret and the ability to deploy. When it deploys,the nod logo at the back (wich is actually door) open and a kind of obelisk rise and fires deadly rays.

What I eventually find out to be possible (because it needs to land to deploy) :
1) It always fly. The small turret beetween the red cockpit and the reactors is aa and I'll add a permanent obelisk instead of the back plate to have a ag weapon.

2)It can land. The small turret is aa and ag. When deploys an obelisk rise at the back (shp so looking better). the deploy anim will be the anubis rising slowly and the shp building will display it in air. The only drawback of that one is that it land from times to times and fly lower.

Which one do you prefer ? or Have you another cool idea (more or less realisable Smile )?

Feel free to aslo comment on the design (it's Media Hut afterall)

I like this concept, but the backside.. I believe where the thrusters are, seems to make the design seems overly obtuse.

@Ickus : What do you mean by obtuse ? Do you mean the rear is to wide ?

Anyone has an opinion about what would be best between landable+deployable Vs. always flying ??

yea, too wide, it makes it appear top heavy. and the orange..doesnt fit it..I know its meant to be "exhaust/flames" ? or am I reading it wrong? >_<

haaaa ok ... Actually the yellow parts are at the front ! The "square" part is the front and the round one the rear. The exhaust flames are not displayed on this screenshots.

A 'walking frame' won't work on an aircraft type in TS, I hope you know.

The back looks a bit wierd with the bright yellow, maybe try and dull it down a bit and make it more red-orange. The shape is really original. Like how you named it after wepwawet, the egyptian jackal god.

lol. that was I was saying. its actually the front. I think it would make a better light hovering hit and run unit. mixing the buggy and the recon bike..but thats just me.

It was why a mentioned the aircraft research topic : it's not an aircraft it's a jumpjet vehicle. The walk anim looks really cool (just make an assymetric flame and make it turn on itself and go to and fro - something like 5 frames is enough) but the problem was that the turret keep bobing when it advance if it has a walk anim (It as a turret because it's not a normal aircraft). So I just addred flames that do not move ; as they are small it looks ok.

No that's not a building ("flying" building will be featured in my mod thought). I won't release it in public but I can share it with those who ask me (I'm ok with people using my stuffs but I prefer to know and I don't want thel to spread in noob projects.Just pm me if you want it.


@Ickus : Isn't that a bit big for an hit and run stuff ? But I take your remark as something in favour of making it always fly and not deploy.

@Tartan Bunny : I'll try to do some shading so it's less contrasted. But the part with the yellow is the front and not the back !
In my mod, Nod has some egyptian influences.


Anyone could give his opinion about the two options I mentioned ??? (please ... It's just a terrible dilema !)

I might release an alpha version with just the Nod side done ... but not too soon, for I've still some graphics to do, balancing everything and (that's a big part) code the ia.

Nice airship here - very original, good design..
it definitely captures that "Nod" feel.

Any idea about how it should be armed ?
I think I'll make it always flying (it doens't look good when it is always landing). But an obelisk at the back might not look veyr good if it's always there and the small turret it presently carries doesn't looks very nice too.

well. maybe rapid fire plasma guns, a weaker version of the Cycannon?... if its aim to be something to be the shining child of the technology of peace.

maybe a long reloading Tiberium Gas missile, weaker but still effective..

. It kinda reminds me of the Terran Battlecruiser and the Event Horizon. Wink

Plasma guns could be nice. Where do you think the turret should be placed then ?
It's a shame it cannot deploy without landing for the back plate would have made a nice nuke silo door.
