I've once made a gun as a logo for an Email-Client. Smile

You carved the .05AC into the model using polygons!? That's a horrible waste. Textures are your friends. #Tongue

interesting how ever I prefer the .357 magnum version due to its higher ammo capacity and lesser recoil.

.50 cal = heavy machine gun rounds
.50 AE (Action Express) = shit the Desert Eagle fires.

EDIT, now that i look extremely close, it indeed seems to say .50AE.

Give me a Rambo bow anyday.

It's a bit early in the modelling process to comment really.

And naughty Lin Kuei Ominae, don't thread hijack.

@IcyCon55: Even though I have Adobe photoshop, I still suck at texturing so this is the second option.

@ORCACommander: I used the .50 because it is in all the pictures I am using for the model.

it becomes better, but what shall the telescope be there? A hand gun with a telescope doesn't match. If you want it realistic you should remove this.
You also should make the stripes/ribs in the back more diagonal from back to front.

What i really like, is the amount of detail you seem to put in it. Textures are only good if you want the polygon count small, but for a good renderwork they can't turn a lowpoly-mesh into a highpoly. So keep up the work.

If you're going high enough poly to use geometry to make the 50AE then round off the edges on the rest of the model.
You've got sharp edges all around the front and along the top of the slide, but the real ones are rounded off.

Presumeably the optic is a red dot rather than a magnifying scope. It could do with being bigger so you could actually see down it.
You can't get in close to handgun optics like you can on a rifle (or you'll get a black eye and your teeth knocked out) so they need to be larger in diameter.
Also the mount is very low poly and doesn't actually make sense, have a good look at some optics and mounts for handguns and rifles that don't have RAS systems.

Your scope isn't like that one.
That one's clearly bigger and the clamps holding it on are exactly what I was noticing the lack of when I suggested looking at real ones Wink

Fair enough on the sharpness, I was going by Lin's picture but now I look at the magazine it's an airsoft replica and not a real one.

I was aware of it and it. I believe this is a Mark XIX Desert eagle model.

Those are both rail attached, you haven't modelled a rail onto yours.

Or at least you haven't modelled the up parts of the rail, which are needed or the optic mount would slide along the rail.

I know its hard to see but I have all the top rails in(front, two middle, and back). With ray mirror on, its harder to see finer details

Yeah... I tried using random face to make the "bumpiness" and it didn't come out too well. Plus I realize it isnt big enough.

That's a grip, not a stock.

And the bullet wouldn't be pointy.

Does it really make much difference? He knew what I was talking about.

It was more for his own reference, if he plans to model any other guns in future it's sensible to know the terminology.

Okay, I made the bullet more blunt and I changed the wood "stock"(grip) to a non-traditional one.
