You can only make real things from plans for so long before you get bored and have to make something up as you go along:

1.76MB .zip
Youtube Link

Edit:
It's not the Aliens dropship by the way, the backend looks similar at certain angles (the fins are arranged differently to the Aliens one) but the front is entirely different.

Edit Again:
Render of Dropship.
Render of APC. (Unfinished Texture)
Render of Jeep. (No Texture)

Nice work here, Daz -

The platform on the dropship though looks too weak for the dropship to land on..
It might look better if you give it 'feet' or something that will extend out and support the ship as it lands.

Just a thought

It doesn't land on it, it's purely for picking up units Wink

The problem with an Aliens mod is there's only 2 vehicles to go on (plus the Sulaco, but that wouldn't really fit in C&C3).
So you end up making up stuff as you go along anyway, but having to worry about whether it fits with the other two units.

And yeh, boxey APC.
Looked alot better in my head and when I drew it on paper, might try one of my other designs.

And I've changed to a grey scheme so I can make it lighter without it turning sickly green.

IMO they look great #Tongue

BTW An aliens mod would better suit a FPS, but its still a great idea that I've pondered about myself.

An Aliens mod for an FPS might end up doing a HaloGen depending on how good it was and how long it took to do, as SEGA own the rights to Aliens and have Gearbox making an FPS.

Quite to the contrary, I'm glad someone's doing a proper Aliens game.
They've comitted to maintaining the atmosphere of the film so it should be awesome, it's just a shame it won't be out until 09.

The marine campaign (or the early parts anyway) of AVP2 in an engine like the Crysis or U3 engines would be brilliant.
I just wonder if it's going to be a game of the film (ie short) or a game with events prior to the film and leading into the film using that particular group of Marines (ie as long as they can make it).

Owww I was hoping to see a cheyenne dropship Sad. I am a huge fan of the alien movies and have the special quadrilogy set, so if you want some concepts and ideas my dvd collection has 5 dvds worth of stuff not in the movies.
