There from the game Resistance: Fall of Man, M12 Sabretooth, LU-P Lynx & Goliath. Got any images of the U/AV-17 Hawk or the P-1117 Kingfisher? I’m interested in making vxls of them.

I know you said not to discuss the images but anyone who has played the game will recognise them right away, I don’t see why the big secret :/

Ok... you got me! Me and a friend (who has the game) got talking last night about making an RA2 mod of it. If you could do a few quick voxels (no migfection required) I'd be very grateful and put your name in size 72 in the readme files, if you would like to help or are just curios PM me.

An dthe pics are digital camera stills of an LCD TV (Art Pack 2, need more skill points to get the hawk picsI think...). My M8 has the game though and I don't have a PS3 so you'll probably have to wait a while for any Hawk/stalker pictures.

Ive played Resistance, got a PS3, thinkin of gettin that game. Hmm, a mod for it would be interesting indeed Smile

Which game do you want it for, TS or RA2? They have different scales for the vxls and for it to fit right a vxl maker needs to know which game.

The setting & graphical style could fit in well with RA2 but there are only about three vehicles per side, so you’d have to make a lot of stuff up to fill in the gaps. It would be quite an undertaking to do all the shp work too, which I doubt your capable of TBH.

If you can show me you are serious about making this mod & it’s not just some random n00b idea that will probably be dead in a few weeks then I might help you.

I tried to make voxels and I have the sides planned out (with some leeway); I've got some code ideas, for instance the Steelhead's Auger will probably use railgun logic unless someone has a better Idea, spires will basically be nukes with a genetic mutator style warhead attatched.

The units so far are:

INFANTRY

Soldier
Guy with M5A1 carbine, faster than hybrid and with better sight but much weaker.
Sniper
Has a fareye, can kill all inf except leapers with one shot (as I'm planning to have a little swarm of six leapers to counter sniper rushes).
Rocket Soldier
LAARK toting infantry, good VS vehicles but lacking against Chimeran Infantry.

Hybrid
Slower and stronger than a soldier, uses a secondary attack that looks like tagging then shooting when engaging vehicles (uses laser sight code like the one in the CNC WIKI)

Steelhead
Even Slower and stronger than a hybrid, the steelhead has an Auger Heavy energy rifle that is capable of passing through most organic and inorganic substances and causing damage to several targets.

Leapers
a cheap swarm of 6 leapers that can be used to counter sniper rushes, has low sight and health except Vs snipers

Slipskull
Fastest Chimeran infantry but poor attack and health, eyes capable of individual focus so able to see further tham most chimera.

VEHICLES

Command truck
Looks like a WWII radio truck and deploys into Command centre.

M12 Sabertooth (US spelling but then again it is a US tank)
Most powerful Human unit, has 80mm and 20mm guns, good fir hit + run and can crush INF; vulnerable to stalker missiles.

LU-P LYNX
A 4x4 vehicle with 12.7mm GPMG and three unit carry capacity.

Excavation walker
Unearths Chimeran towers.

Stalker
More powerful than M12 but slower and vulnerable to multiple missile hits, has a gattling gun (will actually use gattling logic) ans missiles for anti-vehicle/structure assaults.

Goliath
Big, Strong and slow as a snail carrying several kilos of lead; can deploy to fire spire missiles (smaller than Chimeran Super-weapon) or use concussion mortars (lobber=yes and inaccurate=yes)

BUILDINGS

Humans
Command post
MCV-style deployed building.

Coal power plant
Imagine the RA powerplant, now imagine it in RA2 (hopefully with brick effect)

Barracks
Infantry are trained here and building it allows Access to a defensive Trench with a machinegun.

RESOURCE COLLECTION METHOD
AS YET UNDECEIDED

War factory
builds L-UP lynxes and sabertooths (and whatever other vehicles I can/will add. Allows access to field Gun defense which fires shells at enemy vehicles and infantry at range.

RADAR installation
Bunker with Radar installed, a kind of technologically refined "Chain-home" WWII era system.

Research Facility
Research into chimeran weaknesses and new weapons is done here.

Human Super-weapon
UNDECEIDED AS NO NUKES ARE DEPICTED AND ALTERNATIVES UNKNOWN.

Chimera

Tower
Like an MCV

Fusion reactor
Provides power but is dangerous if destroyed.

Conversion centre
Creates Chimera, possibly also resource gathering method (idea at current: unit "mines" dead/infected soldiers -ore with image- and deposits them here).

Chimeran Factory
Builds walkers for the Chimera.

Angel tower
A radar-style building for the Chimera

Dropship Pad
Uses Paratrooper logic to drop of a drop-pod at a selected location.

Main Tower (Like London one but MUCH smaller)
Like a battle lab for the chimera.

Spire launcher
A silo for the Spire SW which kills all infantry and vehicles in an area as well as damaging buildings (weapons used to kill crawlers by those inside damages buildings) Uses an animation of crawlers fanning out from where the missile hits and might stay like radiation if it's suitable.

AA laucher
The AA guns that shoot down all U/AV-17 Hawks and P-1117 Kingfishers in the game.

Mortar
The mortars that you must destroy on certain levels, anti-vehicle/rush base defence.

Bunker
The small bunkers from the cheddar-gorge level of the game (not the gate ones but the ones wit one sentry gu and a hybrid in).

TBH them voxels aren’t all that bad, the stalker should be grey tho. What are you going to do about all the infantry & building shps that you’ll need?

I agree with mig eater, how will you do shp's? You need to show that you can do work without others before you ask for help.

Take my mod as an example, Tiberian Twilight (for TS)
I am the only person working on it, if i dont get any other members I can atleast finish the mod to a decent level, showing that there is work being done and progress being done means that someone might be interested in joining, at the very least it has meant that some people have made a few things or been willing to help out here and there. Show that you arnt just doing a 1 week thing and you may get help Cool

Good luck with the mod, I hope it goes somewhere Wink

I'll do a small demo with seals instead of rofle guys and yrarg shps as "placeholders" so people see I can do stuff. I've got my first building SHP (a 3x3 that might be used as command center) upstairs on my other PC so I'll get going...

Although I do need a hva for my stalker though, I openl admit that if I try to animate it it will look like it is being repeatedly attacked with a shock rifle... basically, spazzy Sad

Got some buildings, for some reason the black comes out blue in the buildup though and they're all really low quality (good for starters though and if I ever release they'll all get re-made).

Finally got some help (a friend who can do buildings in fireworks) And I have a week off of studying next week (friday onwards until a week monday!) so expect some action! And it's 9:30PM and I have spoken corsework about othello due tomorrow

your vosels are ok (they need a bit texturing though) but that's fine you could find someone for shp because the ones you showed are not very good.

I know that they aren't good, if you had read the thread properly you'd notice I was asking for help...

Commander, the Yanks have finally started shipping us some of their M12 Sabretooth Light tanks; however they'll need some work before they're even half ready to help us in our struggle against the Chimera, on a side-note a few examples were field-tested against our LU-P Lynx Jeeps, we've got a picture here of several examples of both lined up waiting for re-fuelling.
