Subject description: Solar Panel Power Plant

Playing around with some models I extracted from a game, I put this shp together just for the hell of it. Works best on all black maps (space). Can either be a vehicle, or you can use a single frame as a building.

I don't like it. It's too...sterile. The texture is simply way too clean.

As for the model itself, I guess with a little recolouring it could become quite nice.

A power plant that rains death on everything. Sounds good. Note, it doesn't have a shadow because there isn't supposed to be a floor in space. #Tongue

I hope this doesn't sounds nasty, but do we spotlight useless SHPs too? Rolling Eyes
No question, the quality is very good, but i don't see any purpose for this.

And for the panel that should be transparent, i would recommend removing the transparent panels and add those into the shadow frames. Then they are also transparent ingame. Ok only if you make it as a fixed building, since anims can't have shadows.

btw is it already centred for ra2 buildings so it can be used as a turret or activeanim? (an ingame pic would help Wink )

It is currently centered the way you see it in that gif. The SHP has the same dimensions.

It works as a 1x1 building slightly floating above the ground that isn't supposed to be there. Notice the first vertical line on the panel is the rotation point. So this building is fully centered in a 1x1 cell. It does however bleed over into other cells.

Now that I remember where I centered it, I think it won't work as a unit.

For Gosho: You can't see the detail at 10,000,000 feet!

WTF building anims can have shadows o.0 He is right tho making the panel a shadow would give it the transparency it needs to look uber cool.

do they fixed this for RA2? In TS anims can't have shadows (or better said, they are not shown ingame).

yes it is fixed in ra2. You should play RA2 instead of old TS, RA2 have Npatch, regin of steel, Robot storm,DDay and FC.
