Re: my Paratroopers topic locked by Muldrake:
Mr. Muldrake: it will be nice that you, with all the people in the future, whose topic you intend to lock: to be consentual.
It will be nice if you first ask the person, if he agrees that his topic is getting nowhere, and then to lock it.
Think about that, since the song said: "at the end, only kindness matters".
(if you have hosting space problems, tell this to people on this forum, and many will be able to help you, such as I am able, as well, you only need to ask).
Finally: this forum should not deter people this way, which I am starting to hurt from, at the moment, thanks to this rudeness you expressed this way.
My intention was NOT to misuse your server space/bandwidth, or whatever is dependent on, but: think about what I said, as well as will add:
please, and thanks.
This two words seem to be overlooked these days ?

and why are you attaching random pictures to your posts?

This is a modding forum - if a topic leads nowhere because its full of spam/flame or theres nothing new/important there, it might get locked.

You simply cant have paratroopers in TS without editing the game itsself, so as long you dont have an edited game.exe, theres no need to have a topic about that...

Members of the staff team (on any site not just this one by the way) reserve the right to lock, delete or modify any post or topic they deem appropriate. If you disagree with a member of the staff team, send a private message to an administraitor/webmaster and let them judge wether or not the topic was locked/deleted/modified appropriatley.

Random pictures are like the auto-censors. Just because you can use them, doesn't mean you have to. PPM does not have a bandwith problem AFIK, its just annoying.

As you can probably tell, I believe Muldrake was perfectly justified in locking the topic.

For your origonal question:
Something that kinda resembles your question, in case you haven't seen it before: http://www.ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=994

Hacking the exe is very difficult, TSHyper and myself have been working at it for a long time, and although we have made advancements they have not been as significant as something like this. pd and VK have been mentioned in the other topic, check there about them. If you want to try yourself, get a good disassembler (I reccommend IDA pro) and hex editor, then learn assembly language (ASM). Finally, get used to the TS engine, and start hacking! (sounds so easy #Tongue ). How? If I knew that I would have done it myself a good long while ago.

Mkay, as this topic isn't directly about editing TS, but at a motion I have done, it should be placed in PPM Zone, which I've moved it to.

Second, the topic was finished with, as most people here will agree, because you do not realise how big of a task you want done, in your seemingly innocent request of having paratroopers as a superweapon.
What information and methods for anything related to that topic (ie, units which can be used for paradropping, etc) were listed in that topic.

There was nothing more to add, unless you had the intention of learning how to hack into the exe, and from there creating a superweapon on your own. And if that was the case, you would not be writing about your progress for over a year, as it'd take you at least that long on how to do it.

I, as many others did on that thread, try to explain the difficulty of your request, and thus, the apparent dead end you were heading into. If you had just listened. Something which a lot of people seem to be doing less and less of these days.

A lot of people have been here a long time, they've been in this community and have modded for long enough that they do know what they're talking about. We weren't going against you and being rude, we were stating what is *known* by us here.

A lot of your requests in various topics, have covered things to which have already been asked, or already been attempted in this community, many times over. The attitude of people can seem rude or ignorant, when we've had to go through explaining the futility of something, or the apparent uselessness of something many times over, to people who do not want to listen.

And your random images serve no direct purpose. Although granted they won't take up a large amount of bandwidth or space, it is still a waste.
You say yourself that if bandwidth was an issue, then you could help. Surely if that was the case, you could host your own images to include in your posts, without using PPM.

Granted perhaps some of the people here haven't had the best attitude, but, you yourself haven't made it easy for people to be respected back, when you have mostly ignored what people have said.
This community is old, for TS, its 8 years old. We've covered a lot of bases, we've done a lot of research, played with a lot of settings, we know the game more than most, please listen.
