Rock Patch 2 announced!

PaD has recently announced the Rock Patch 2.0, which is a community patch to expand the moddability of the game, in the same standard of NPatch. It's really the first time I hear about competition in this area.

Rock Patch 2 is being made from scratch, so while it doesn't include the old Rock Patch code, it will have most (if not all) of its features, as well as some new neat features like custom foundations (look picture below).

Modifications made for NPatch will not be totally compatible with Rock Patch 2, since the standards of custom strings, new superweapons and cursors might be different from NPatch. Also, PaD is testing it a lot before sending it to public, so expect slow, but stable releases from it, once it's up.

Here's some teasers:

those colored beams are going to be pretty useless unless there can be some kind of gradient or glow effect to them otherwise they look like someone just drew a fat line on the screenshots in mspaint.

They're slightly semi transparent and it looks exactly like the one already in game.
(But a different colour obviously)

Yeah, new toys to come eventually, and cudos to who ever figured out about the foot print thing that is a long welcome sight, this will breath in new life to CnC RA2:YR moding. All around it is good. Yeah for PaD.
