Hello everyone. Last sunday I've got an email EA APOC regarding the OMC4 maps that should become candidates to be featured on Kane's Wrath. As you know, the deadline of the OMC4 was on early september and since then, only Hexetic finished to rate all maps. You may wonder why is that, but truth to be said: 30 maps is a lot, C&C3 doesn't load fast, the game is quite detailed and our rating standards are quite strict. I remember when I organized the TS OMC editions, I usually took one night to play all 12 submissions before sending them to the judges. In this edition, I've lost 3 days with only 10 maps. And I didn't had to review them at all.

APOC gave me a deadline of the last thrusday to send the KW candidates. With Hexetic's rates, most of Clazzy's rates and few indications from Bhones, I've choosen three maps that are not necessarily the top 3 maps, although they are great maps, I assure you. So far, there was no reply from APOC and no confirmation that these maps were received. I'm also waiting Bhones to send me his ratings to possibly send a second package of maps for APOC (there are other 5 maps with suspicious high scores that could be worth featuring on KW).

So, what does this mean? Here's a quick translation on some interesting points:

-> 3 maps will be reviewed by the development team to see if they can be featured or not on KW.

-> I cannot reveal the name, the authors, neither the current ratings of these maps, since there are still judges rating the maps.

And I'm also taking the opportunity to make a program to manage future OMC editions, because using calculator and notepad to get scores and statistics of each of the 30 valid submissions is not viable for me. This is one of the reasons I'm not posting many news recently, although there are a lot of things to post about, at least inside PPM.

Anyway, for today's community news.. they are very poor since big sites have few or no interesting news at all in this week. Here's what I could get so far:

The Big News:

-> Jonwil has released a new tool inside the SDK Extras package at CnCMods.Net. The texturexml tool automatically generates the xml code for textures in a given directory. That should speed things up for some C&C3 modders out there. For more information and download of SDK Extras, head to CnCMods.Net.

Other News:

-> Contra, modification for Generals/Zero Hour, has a new cool looking B-52 bomber.

-> Middle East Crisis 2 has some new screenshots with four units from the Israeli forces. Check them all HERE.

-> CNCDEN has two new thumbs up maps for C&C3.

-> The crew of Tiberian Dawn (TC for C&C3) were interviewed by CnC Nation. One of the interviewed people is our buddy Nyerguds. Check it out at this forum post.

Also, the recent downtime on PPM was caused by some tests with apache and php4/php5. Apparently, PPM was having include issues with php5, preventing the site from loading, while the forums worked fine. In the other side of the coid, php4 was giving problems with other sites of the network. In the end, there was a mess up to revert the latest upgrade to the old one, which made apache go down for some annoying hours. Now php5 is default and I managed to fix PPM, but there are some sites in the server that are in need of help at the moment.

Anyway, ee apoligise for any inconvenience these server issues may have caused.

use minnitab for statistics, its much easier than putting lists into a calculator and manually doing everything. Speaking of which I'm writing a statistics essay right now! But yeah I'd really like to see those OMC results soon.

Ahh, yea, you need. Because if I depend on your site to write a news about it, I'm seriously screwed up #Tongue.

But the forum index wouldn't load either at that time. Confused
