Ok well my problem is that I could never figure out how to convert old C&C tiberian dawn or red alert tmp files to any of the newer tmp variants. Now dont get me wrong I'm not going to do anything remotely similiar to those TD to TS mods or anything, it's just I know how to get TS and RA2 tmp files into a bitmap form. Either I've been under a rock or something, but is there any way for me to convert them to their newer cousins? I know somehow it can be done, but have failed miserably.

Thanks!

look on a tut from afterglow.
theres a RA1 tut about tmps but some of it is still good for tmps of RA2 to TS.

Ah OK, I'll go have a look-see

EDIT: Uhh no I can't find it anywhere on the afterglow site, and trust me, I looked everywhere.

If you need it done badly youd have to use the old TD as a source texture and use them on the Ts or RA2 tiles. Im guessing that they are different sizes but if not you can just copy and paste them. Im not quite sure cause i havent installed ra or TdD for quite some time but hopefully this helps a little

uh so you mean like copying the tmp within the old mix file and then pasting it into say TMP studio? Yes they are different, unlike the isometric form of the TS and larger still RA2 tiles the tmp files of the older games are square 32 pixels squared. Uhh I'll try that too. One of my problems was that none of the tmp editors currently around cant support the older type of tmp Sad.

Sheesh, just convert em to PCX using the old TMP conversion tools from the Mix Manager / RAMIX packs.

It is logistically impossible to convert the old tmps directly to the new ones. You have to use the old tmps as textures on 3D models and render them out in an isometric view. Then import them using TMP Builder.

There's no easy way to do it.

look at them in XCC mixer, take a screen shot of them while you have them selected, and then paste them in paint. Viola

on this computer I'm currently stuck with(for who knows how long) uhh the tmps just show up as black squares o.0. None of the palletes are selectible either. I've found that very strange as everything worked fine on my XP, can't get TS to install on this one either. That's why I didnt convert them to pcx.

EDIT: I tried using the old tools as you suggested but they crashed on me #Mad

Bump so it's noticed. OK, is there a program I can use to convert the ra1 tmps to bitmaps(or similiar) that isn't XCC or the old Mix manager Nyerguds said? As XCC mixer wont let me pick the ra1 palettes, and Mix manager doesn't like my computer or something. Hell I'm desperate enough to resort to asking someone else to do it :/
