Hello

I'm working on making a Tiberian-Sun spin off game that is basically a scaled-down Tiberian Sun where you can control a single unit, and possibly a squad of units. This is kind of like Sole Survivor, but I don't know where I'll go with it.

My main problem right now is that I want to get the original graphics from TS (so I can use the sprites for all the units). However, when I use XCC mixer to extract the .shp's, I lose all the pallete info. Does anyone have, know where I can get, or know how I can get already-colored sprites from TS?

Basically what I want is a colored-in shp in another picture format.

You could try using the ones from Return of the Dawn, but you'd have to ask permission from the mod creators first.

in XCC copy the .shp file from the .mix and then use shp builder to export it as a .gif.

or export the shp in the correct palette (unittem.pal, best if you use RA2 version for transparency issues) in XCC as a .pcx or .png.

Thanks. I didn't manually select the palette before. The help is much appreciated.

Question though: unittem.pal gives all the units Nod colors. Is there a way to make this GDI?

in shp builder you can use color schemes to replace the red into almost whatever color you want.

hmmmm, there is a way to do this. The Nod coulour you mean is the remap colour. Go to Colour Schemes, then to PalPack 1 & 2, then to Remap. Decide brown one or two, there arent any better (I dont see some better Wink). If you dont want more brown then gold, then replace the remap. (the remap is the red which is left/bottom...)
EDIT: Ickus was faster^^

Your welcome slavik262 and welcome to ppm.

thanks Ordersherrscher for explaining more in depth.

Is the game you plan to make flash based?

-Also this in the wrong forum. Use media hut instead, this sub-forum is for custom made .shp downloads only. Wink

No. The game I'm making is actually written in C++ with the Dark GDK. I haven't really started it yet, so I'll see what direction it takes. This is my first project, so we'll see how it goes. Thanks though. The help is greatly appreciated.
