The newest edition to my collection is the QPASS. This is going to be the power unit of the AA. It armor amd weaponry is unmatched. It houses its own supercollider that speeds up atoms extremely fast providing weapon ammo and repair material. It uses an unknown radioactive element to keep its armor from degrading for at least a month(we've only been able to keep this element stable for about 0.026 seconds). Once this vehicle is killed, its armor explodes violently as it rapidly degrades. Its based on solely laser weapondry giving reflecter tanks an edge over it, but it can still crush the tanks.

Cost:3500
Strength:750
Armor:Tampered Aluminum Trichloride Tetrafloride (special-1)
Primary:Chemical Laser
Secondary:Anti-Aircraft laser

Interesting design, but It's far too round for a heavy mech. Maybe you could follow something like this, design?

I'm keeping the round design but I'm going to make the legs much more armored and lower the strength to about 750, shrink the size, and lower the cost to 3500.

Th design needs work, but it looks like a good start, just be sure to add more detail to the chassis, as it looks too flat ATM.
BTW the armor being made of Uuh, made me laugh, you'll be better using a fictional ceramic/metallic alloy, than a real element, at least it would look more believable that way Wink

but again. I think the design is just not appealing.....make it more organic as Aro pointed to the Covenant Scarab.

look at arthropods for referencing on the legs. it looks silly having them stick out on the sides. maybe underneath it...like Mars Attacks/Destroy All Humans UFO. also move the turret underneath it..or add in pop out turrets or snake-like arms with 'guns' attached to them.

Is that the Covenant Scarab? Is that the Halo 3 version? It looks nice...
Anyways, on-topic: the mech looks big, but the design ain't that good (I ain't saying that your 3D skills suck, because I can't do any better #Tongue)...

Apex you got 3d down pat. its just I totally agree with Chielscape. You lose alot of creative options if you skip the designing part and attempt to move it into the modeling step.

Chemicle lasers are current technology and actually quite lethal. Although currently the mobile one needs to be carried in a 747. I wanted to make a unit thats way past modern capabilities. The reason I want it to have an unstable armor so that it cant be stolen(no chance of human research), and an EMP will be the strongest weapon against it because it needs its electronics to keep it from detonating.

Apex: I highly recommend you look up subdivision modeling or other techniques than using simple primitives...Also getting familiar with the material editor in 3ds max.( Which I assume you are using.) Will take you a long way.

It would benefit from unwrapping and textures however it can be said that a procedural map can be used without the need of unwrapping. As it can produce nice results if used in conjunction with bump maps or other maps.
