You could use similar method to what ive used to make units explode with ore. in fact, ive just wrote a tutorial on how to do it http://modenc.renegadeprojects.com/Ore_spawning
Tell me what you think. _________________ --

he wants something like a ore drill. not a ore truck with ore in it. lol. i will ask my friend to extract the rules ini of mental omega to see what is the coding. QUICK_EDIT
wardeathfun, i think you misread my tutorial, even tho it is possible to make units expel ore when destroyed, you can hook up the debris to a weapon, put the weapon on the building, and have the building fire the weapon. _________________ --

wardeathfun, stop arguing. if you would actually looked in places you would have realized that all this is done with a single method. You dont have to force fire on the ground.
IIRC you cannot recreate ore drills (and if someone says they done it, its probably using this method too)
You have 400+ posts, only little useful content.
anyway, something usefull for CodeSys123:
The ore purifier in the mod that you mentioned uses anims to spawn gems (as far as i can see here). And the problem with that is that the gems will never fill a tile. But if you follow the tutorial that dark shadow posted, you will be alright. I know that works since i used the same thing for my "Balance mod"
(Instead of creating a new building, use your ore purifier to make it work)
I will try it today myself if i have time. Feel free to ask anything if your stuck. _________________ --

Indeed. wdf is one of those whose brains don't click on their own, but not annoying enough to be banned yet. I suggest you do what most of us do, which is, ignore him completely. QUICK_EDIT

dose it look like im arguing? im being reasonable. if you do not want my advice from the ini coding that will make it act like a drill then fine.
i never wonder Aro. i assume your reason is the same then most people here. apearently it is.
and fx drive. i aint comparing codes. i do not do that. i asked you a simple question and made me look like a jerk. i asked you "but you need to force fire, whats the point of that?" i was hoping you would answer and "reveal" and simple solution and not make a scene. but obviously not. and DCODER. go a freakin head and ban me. i do nothing wrong here accept being a noob. why? because nobody answers my topic because im a noob.
i aint going to post in this topic anymore. Last edited by wardeathfun on Mon Jan 28, 2008 5:34 pm; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
wardeathfun, I don't think you understood me well. I'm not flaming at you, I'm not trying to put you down or anything. You are trying to learn and i think we all respect that.
Advice is only useful if it helps the person asking...
You say you can make an ore drill, or something that acts like an ore drill. I'm telling you that there is only one way that i know of doing this, and I've posted all i know above. You can deduce how to implement it for your own projects. Now you have two choices:
a) You can say (without comparing the code first) i know how to make it build an ore drill, you do this, you do that blablabla and risk repeating exact same code that I used and look like a fool.
b) You can compare your code against the well known solution and state whether its different, what are advantages/disadvantage of using one over the other. And if its the same, you can say confirm that this method works, and offer some help.
The choice is yours. _________________ --
