I have no idea what the TS Retro done to the AI but it is kicking my ass and I'm ashamed to say this because I'm pretty good at TS and I'm getting beat by the AI on the lowest difficulty. Does anyone how to dumb down the AI a bit? It is pretty crazy when the AI can rebuild structures than you can destroy them.

Help!!!

TBH, the original TS AI is shit. Whooo, look, I attack with 4 light infantry...
Anyways, to answer your question, I suggest looking in the rules.ini. Look for the tags "TeamDelays=" and "MultiplayerAICM=", and lower the values. The first value is for hard army, the second for medium, and the last for easy.
"TeamDelays=" is the amount of time (in frames) between 2 AI attacks. "MultiplayerAICM=" is the multiplyer in % of the money the AI gets...

oh i donno, those light infantry rushes catch me out. Laughing Just play normal TS on Fastest on a very good comp. Your base is gone before you can blink, usually at the hands of the fearsome light infantry.

So apart from upping the size of AI taskforces Teamdelays will make AI more deadly?

The AI cheats on normal TS anyway Redscare, they can build multiple buildings at once!

Fear the light infantry.

The AI can build multiple buildings at once?!! Frak me...

And there's no way to put a cap on that either I bet.

Eh well I did what you posted Dutchygamer and it helped a little bit but GDI AIs are still crack shots with the ion cannon and Nod AI rapes my base with devil tongues and subterranian APCs. I can repel conventinal attacks but attacking an enemy base. especially nod bases. they have obelisks out the ass and a Mammoth Mk.II gets chewed up. WTF?

Try this:
Ion cannon-Build more structures then you need(especially power)
Obelisks-Use aircraft or more then one unit(the Mk.II sucks on its own)
Devil's tongues and sub APCs-Build concrete and wall in your critical structures(mainly power plants and construction yards).

Seriously, have you ever played online? Most players tend to do these same things.

It's been years since I played online but yes I've used similar strategies and it all depends on which side I play as.

GDI I use steamroller tactics to use GDI's brutal firepower and as Nod I use sneak attacks and raids.

Yes I use the same tactics against the AI but it's like this. I destroy one power plant and next thing I know there goes another and another. The AI is building them faster I can pop them and I notice the AI repairs twice as fast and seems to never run out of money. I levelled their refineries and conyard and still pumping out tanks like there's no tomorrow. It's like I'm playing against the Cabal from hell.

I hate HKs with a passion.

If you have trouble with TS:Retro's AI my AI will beat the crap out of you on Hard Level. TS:R's AI is a whimp compared to my AI and the AI in some other mods.

You say you hate the AI Light Infantry rush, check out thes from the AI in my mod then:

Note that is only one tiny feature of my AI on low tech level I got much much more.

Actually I have trouble with my own AI (mostly I watch when the AI's punch at eachother in 8p maps and try to make them even deadlier)

if the ai is building to fast for you, you could take out their con yard...

And every stratagy has a counter

It's pathetic that I'm getting owned by AI.

Yeah I take the conyard after I lose about several squadrons worth of bombers or a regiment worth of infantry.

The only thing I'm trying to do is slow down the AI's ability to build real fast and limit and make their accuracy with super weapons reasonable and give them a limited amount of funds. It is a complete waste of time going harvester hunting when they can rebuild them by the handfuls. Logistical warfare my arse...

Oh I adjusted the HK and made it only available to GDI since Nod has the meteor storm, chemical missile and multi-missile. I made it even with the HK, ion cannon and drop pods.

if you think the game needs to be more logistical/tactical whatever, just make things more expensive or slow down the harvester income rate. You could also drop the harvs health down to further make effective harrassment strategies.

make the infantries dead on one tank shot and make the harvester less heavy.

Balance the damn sides 100% and lesser some hp on some units and make some units get heavier armor or even bullet.

I guess my mod has quite a bit of rushing. (especially little infantry)

Yeah, tone down the AICM and the TeamCaps and what not. Other than that I can't say much. I think you don't get enough money to start with in TSR. But that's just me. Smile
