CnC Crysis
Hi all! I was thinking about something and it would be great to make it... I thought about a Crysis mod for CnC3... I would like to develop it, but I need a little bit some help. I can do good maps, but i don't know how to use 3 d models and modify or create some. Can somebody help me?
Thanks a lot.
In my project i had the idea to put 3 factions.
North Korean Army, (NOD)
United States Army, (GDI)
and...
THE ALI3NS!
So, if somedy is interested in helping me understanding 3d models or wants to help me, pm me!
Thanks, Bill _________________ https://x.com/GnioProductions
There is a TS mod for Crysis, it might be good to see a TD mod for Crysis, but TW is a crap game and a mod of it in Crysis would only shame itself, save yourself the effort, just help the TS mod QUICK_EDIT
Hes a idiot that doesn't read the thread, and because of that, didn't realize its for C&C3, not for Crysis.
Sounds like a interesting idea, actually I've been waiting for someone to do it, and Gufu, what the ztype are you talking about up there? _________________ ... QUICK_EDIT
Damn, I can even read everything you said Chiel...
Same, lol, god we are on forums too much
I like the idea, question is how you will be going about it, are you porting Crysis models to C&C3, or making ur own models of the game's units?
What have you got planned etc? QUICK_EDIT

First, Chieldscape i read what you have written, so thanks for insulting me.
Next, I plan to replace nod by north korean troops, gdi by united states forces, and i have to change one or two things about scrins. I'm actually making a map called ''escaping'', which is when you escape from the frozen part of the island in the game. BUT i would need help about 3d models, 'cause i'm a bit bad in doin' them. It would be great if one of you could help me!
Thx
I dunno exactely whot the campaign will be about, but... xD
i'm planning a unit list i'll send it later ^^ _________________ https://x.com/GnioProductions

Don't bother about Chiel, he's just trolling the forums...
I wish I could help, but I'm new to modding TW too. The only things I've done untill now are some basic .xml changes, to make the game better for my feeling... QUICK_EDIT

Just try to do what you are able to do ^^
I have to modify some characteristics, like building one unit per unit, changing costs, building list,...
Hum which mod tool do i need? xD _________________ https://x.com/GnioProductions

Well i started to make a plan for the campaign. The first campaign, the american one, is: (i modifyed a bit the campaign story)
-Prologue search and destroy, you start when the americans lands on the island (see crysis the game to see, chapter "assault")
-Your first mission is to clean a North Korean camp with your commando and some troops. Investigate and capture the research lab.
-Your second mission is to evacuate the island after a terrible mistake made by North Koreans. They awoke a terrible and anciens Alien war machine that has frozen the Island.
Then, we'll see later...
Maybe a counter attack...
Ps the tiberium is the ressource in the mod. Have you ever played crysis? Aliens uses a blue crystal... Interesting eh? So in this mod we'll use the blue crystal only.It will be dangerous for humans, but not for commandos. Maybe the green tiberium would be replaced by ammo boxes or things that does not hurt humans... Or just capturing ressource buildings! _________________ https://x.com/GnioProductions

*suggesting moving this to TW mod forum*
Also, I have only used the Mod SDK and NotePad for my mod. But then, I didn't have added any graphics or sounds... QUICK_EDIT
Your presentation is not likely to attract any skilled 3D/2D artists... seriously...
You´re asking for people to model you three complete factions, yet all you have to offer is a few dozen lines of nice´n´shiny ideas. QUICK_EDIT

well sorry i know but i'm working on maps and the only moment when i have time to do my army list is when i'm at school (yes i don't work seriously but i don't need it's easy xD)
Welll of course if you want to know, i've done 2 map, the first which is Escaping, and the second Landing.
Escaping is a map where you have to move your commando between lots of aliens, and reach the extraction point where you can find lots of marines. Of course these guys are able to help you! ^^
Landing, which is in reality the prologue.
For the army list i'm sorry it will be done tomorrow afternoon for the americans. Then i'll plan north koreans and then aliens (aliens do no tneed to be so much modifyed xD) _________________ https://x.com/GnioProductions

Well here's the infantry.. Sorry my scanner doesn't work in dunno why...
USA
-Marine: The standard soldier, equipped with a FN Scar. Costs 50$ each.
-Grenadeer: The standard marine armed with a FN Scar w/ Grenade launcher. Can switch between the two. Costs 75$ each.
-Rocket launcher: More protected marine due to its lack of antipersonnal weapons. Equipped with a SMAW launcher. Costs 100$ each.
-Heavy Gunners: These are prototype infantry. These soldiers are equipped with light nanocombinaisons, which can protect them better than standard kevlar. Equipped with a Gauss Rifle. Costs 400$ each.
-Engeneer: a Marine equipped with an HK mk 23. Can lay mines and bobby traps. Costs 100$ each.
And... the famous...
-Nomad: The commando you'll use in every mission, very powerful. Uses the latest technologies to fight. Cannot be buildable.

Hey, be glad someones actually throwing ideas out there at the least for some mods, especially on these forums. _________________ ... QUICK_EDIT
Why? I´m not saying his idea is uber fail, that he should drop it because he sucks anyways or any other "ztype off, but don´t take this as an offense" crap. No. But I´ve seen enough SAGE mod ideas come and go - each and every one that was at first presented with a "hi guys, I want to do this, this and that - can [code/map/give ideas], need modelers PLZ!" post followed by one-line descriptions of incoherent details never made it anywhere near a version adequate for even the most minimalistic public release. So would it be the better decision to wait until the same fate happens to him?
I mean, look, he´s asking for modelers - is there even one design description in here? Any comment about what quality is needed? Even when saying that modelers should come up with their own designs, basic guidelines are needed on what actually has to be done.
From the way his posts are written, he´s the one going to be mod leader later on - but he presents himself as being unable to come up with a coherent plan both for details as well as for the mod concept. Many elements of mod making were brought up, but none of the descriptions offers any in-depth informations that would be required for a team to work on this.
Neither does he supply any directly available references of what he himself can do - doing "good maps" can mean just about everything in this community. Just dropping that statement without any further information is not a good way to convince others to join in.
NOD-Kane and Brotherhood, if you read this, please think about it. QUICK_EDIT

Golan seriously, what happened to you to become this while you where such a TW modding god? (points at last post you made and your attitude at E-Studios)
I ain't attacking or flaming you, but I just want to know. Are you pissed off because some ppl are too stupid to understand anything or so?
Anyways, ontopic: Golan is right though... If you want modelers, make a concept to let them know what you want, and maybe someone will make you a model QUICK_EDIT

I can only repeat that it was not my intention to be rude, my sincere apologies if my post seemed that way. I simply don´t know how to say it more adequate. QUICK_EDIT

"people are more inclined to help if they feel the workload is divided more equally." that's one way, to say it, Golan. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
Problem with workload trying to be equal, to keep balance. Coders have to go through hundreds of lines of code, changing tiny errors, slight changes to other things, so much code... QUICK_EDIT
At the very least, Nod can u say what you will be doing, show that u are dedicated to the mod, eventually you might get someone
Also think about doing the mod in a game u can edit (eg: TS and RA2 are easier to edit then TW so you could work in there and use that to gain interest in a TW version ) QUICK_EDIT

Yeah but it's better in tw you can have better graphics... But you need to have the skills... I would like to learn how to, but i don't know who would like to help.. _________________ https://x.com/GnioProductions
If you tell me what you need coded I'll try and help. Got lotsa free time and it'll help me learn. I'm an artist and have a fresh copy of 3ds Max 9 and all the tools necessary. However, I've never played Crysis and don't plan to. I have no idea of it's theme or in which direction the mod should go.
I've been tinkering with the code in this game for about a couple weeks now and feel more comfortable with it's structure. Golan and Dutchy, MightyBob from Derelict... All of them have helped me with my stuff without even knowing what I was doing. I am obliged to 'pay it forward' I think... QUICK_EDIT

Ehmm wha? How did you know about the sheephead thingy? I'd say you're from Holland (or Belgium). Also, carnaval is below the main rivers; I live above
Anyways, the coding is very strict, and you mostly find the error while compiling, which takes some time... This are reasons not to mod the game. But when you get xml, it ain't that hard QUICK_EDIT

Nice to see that someone decided to join us ^^ _________________ https://x.com/GnioProductions
Yes, yes! Back to the subject at hand! Some artworks would be nice. I could get started on some models. Also, along with the list of things you plan to make, a description of each one would be awesome. QUICK_EDIT

I like the idea, but I think some sides have very few units if you only use the game (also, I think I finished the game under 10 hours The ending screams exp-pack though...) QUICK_EDIT
I wonder whatever happened to that guy? Perhaps the threat of having to produce something with all of that scrutiny was too daunting for him. Golan is the true prophet!!
For it was written:
