Best Infantry Contest 2008 Results!
Subject description: Congratulations to Machine, the RA2 Infantry God!
Two weeks and a half after the submission deadline of the Best Infantry Contest 2008, which we were running on our Media Hut, was over, the results were displayed.
There were 4 submissions and Machine has beaten Blade, DaFool and partyzanPaulZy, scoring over 80% with the three judges (Lin Kuei Ominae, Blubb and Judeau).
Here's the Results:
1st: Machine for his great Jumpjet Infantry
2nd: Blade for his PsiSpy
3rd: DaFool for his Combat Engineer
4th: partyzanPaulZy for his GI remake
Machine
Blade
DaFool
partyzanPaulZy
There were actually four judges, but Xeno had problems and he was dropped. Anyway, you can check the full ratings and download all submissions HERE. And finally, congrats to Lin Kuei Ominae, for the great organization. It is not an easy job and he was fairly quick with that. QUICK_EDIT
The infantry in RA2 normal use the black under them, so in a since machine has it wrong.
I like most of them , though I'm not sure about the combar engineer. Looks like a hacker trying to be superman. _________________ "It's got that Droke style to it!" QUICK_EDIT

That makes me wonder about the amount of people who misuses the importer from the OS SHP Builder, since, using certain settings, you can get much better colours than importing it with other programs... Last edited by Banshee on Thu Mar 27, 2008 1:36 am; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
the first 3 were made in 3d first, then turned to .shp, while the last was a copy/paste/recolour job. The colours on mine are so "bad" because so are the colours I chose to have on him. It was a matter of taste (he was the third guy in a "series" I was making, so I wanted each guy to be distinct and easily recognizable while at the same time remaining uniform, so I decided the best way to do this was by having brightly different and contrasting colours). But alas, bright blue and red were looked down upon, so in my next touched up release of the guy, I will make his remap darker and his blue into brown.
Looking at my 3d model of the cengie, he looks like a strong, tough looking guy you see as a hero of a game, but I guess it didn't turn out all to well in the conversion. And you don't really think of the engineer as being the ubersoldat of the army. I will modify him, get rid of the back pack and suitcase, and give him a chaingun. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
