Repair tank
Subject description: Designation:FV411
Allied Repair Tank:
The allied repair tank is an ARV (armoured Recovery Vehicle) based on the FV410 Light Tank chassis, it is equipped with a large crane on a rotating turntable and internal stocks of tools for the repair of recovered vehicles.
However the amount of armoured protection has been reduced to allow it to carry more equipment without damaging the suspension or straining the powerpack.

Geeeze. Crop the image down a bit, would you?
Also, it seems to be a bit bland... Maybe its the blue. if this mod is meant to replace RA2, why don't you forget RA2's colour schemes? RA1 allied units in FMVs tended to be light browns or tans. Soviets tended to be black. _________________ PPM's Reichstrollfuherer, 236th Trollenparties brigade. Last edited by Clarkson on Fri Apr 04, 2008 9:27 pm; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT

please, scale down the image with PAINT, or GIMP!
Other than that, the voxel is good, perhaps a bit plane? _________________ This is a signature QUICK_EDIT
Yeah, this isn't my best voxel... I'll be re-doing most of these, consider them "work in progress".
And I'll give it a bigger crane/repair arm. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT
Yeah, check the MBT and medium tank and tell me what you think plese? I could do with the opinions of a pro. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT
I think they tank's back area should be shortened a bit, a longer crane-arm and of course...wheels that doesn't really stick out too much _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
The wheels appear to stick out, the tracks are a voxel wider than the wheels.
I'll shorten the engine deck (grilles on back)
And the turret is in the works. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT

Update
The equipment and camouflage of the old repair tank was deemed insufficient, soviet intelligence reports that the issuing of a new model with a larger crane and smaller engine ducts has begun in frontline units on the german border and is being expanded into the rear areas as more become available.

...What?
Tank chassis are used all the time for utility vehicles. Ever hear of 'Hobart's Funnies'? Ignore him, its fine. _________________ PPM's Reichstrollfuherer, 236th Trollenparties brigade. QUICK_EDIT
Thanks Mei , Gosho, people have been using tank chassis' to haul away and repair other tanks since the 30s, it's real. Read here:

It appears that you sir, have been owned. Enjoy your day, and feel free to comment on the other voxels, some of your comments have been very helpful and I'm grateul for your opinion of the XM65. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT
Dude, fix the first screenshot. It is annoying as hell.
I'm not saying it's bad using a tank chassis. I'm saying this particular one looks too heavy and armoured to be of use in the Allied army, as they use lighter, faster, more partisanesque battle technique. Unless, that is not your direction at all in this mod, in which case it would be OK I guess.
If I were you, I'd give it slightly less armoured look, a little remap on the front and a slightly olive green look (try colours 70-76 from the pallette, I think those are the correct ones). Also, the whole repair arm should be detached from the turret and moved - over the turret, the side or even the back. This way it's ugly. QUICK_EDIT
