Well, since the topics out there why not get it out of the way? _________________ Comcast: Yo dawg we herd yo were downloading, so we put fail in yo modem so yo cant download while yo failin! Last edited by Apex on Thu Apr 17, 2008 9:37 pm; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT

Hmm.........Out those three choices I have to choose the 360.
Xbox 360 is an "ok" system (with some techicial flaws) but has some good titles (CoD4, Halo 3, Bioshock, Masseffect, etc) that make it more attractive, than the other two consoles. The cons of the 360 is what most people say is that Xbox live is not free but is something I don't care since it cost money to maintain game servers and etc. (In my opinion). The Wii to me is like another Game Cube but with an advanced wireless control (the Wiimote) and is popular ATM with its flagship product, "SMB Brawl".
The PS3 I'm not gonna comment on........
Personally I still prefer playing the old classics (NES, SNES, and N64) _________________

Xbox 360.
It has the most amount of games I want. I also love the controller. The system itself is solid, but runs hot (...Seriously, the temp in my room rises by about 10f degrees when it's running O_o)
The PS3 really has nothing I really want on it besides Final Fantasy 13 and God of War 3, and that's about it. Sure, there's been a couple that make me go "Neat game." but not "OMG I WANT THAT CONSOLE!!!". (Other then GTA4, but that's ALSO on the 360.)
The Wii looks good, but the way I see it, it's like games designed by Will Wright, fun for the first hour or so but yawn-inducing afterwards. It's (IMO) more of a "secondary" console, basically one a person buys after already owning a 360 or PS3, not a console that a person buys as their "main" console.
By no means am I saying either are bad, but the games just don't really appeal to me. QUICK_EDIT

The Xbox 360.
Best games (Halo 3, CoD4, Tom Clancy's End War, BioShock, Mass Effect, Halo Wars, GRAND THEFT AUTO 4. And yes, some of these games are for other consoles as well.)
Decent wireless controller. Button layout is acceptable.
Online play is smooth, not much lag (unlike the PS3), although costly.
Price of premium console is the same as PS3 in Canada.
I also like the Wii, because of cheaper price and innovative controller scheme, and, of course, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I've never actually used the Wii before, but I played alot of Super Smash Bros. Melee on the Cube. _________________ Destroy to create. All for the hunt to dominate!

The Nintendo 64
Best games (Ocarina Of Time, Goldeneye, Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64, Mario Party, Pokemon Stadium, SUPER SMASH BROTHERS OMFG, Mario Kart 64, Jet Force Gemini, Banjo & Kazooie, Turok...ect. Need I go on?)
Nintendo blisters only make it more nostalgic.
Price? lol, 20 dollars (if you can find one)
Cheaper then the other 3 overbloated piles of crap, amazing games, and come on, its in 3- ztyping D. Would you rather play an overrated shit FPS(lol HALO) online with random people? or frag it our with your best buds in Goldeneye with cramped 6x6 corners of the screen? And yes, Oddjob is banned you noob. _________________ PPM's Reichstrollfuherer, 236th Trollenparties brigade. QUICK_EDIT
Out of the older ones I'd definantly go with the 64 because I had so many good gaming experiences with it(And dont dis the oddjob he is teh pwnage). And you forgot Conker's Bad Fur Day.
Out of the new ones I'd say the 360 because of availability and gaming variety(used to be why I liked the PS2). I currently have Gears of War, NFS:Pro Street(hate it they took out the street racing!! screw ethics EA, youve done it before), Forza Motorsport 2, Elder Scrolls IV, Halo 3(bash me if you want), Bioshock, Burnout: Paradice, and Crackdown. I'm also gonna get GTA IV(not Vice City) _________________ Comcast: Yo dawg we herd yo were downloading, so we put fail in yo modem so yo cant download while yo failin! QUICK_EDIT

YES! You forgot Battletanx and the follow-up, Global Assault. Those were immensely kick-ass (except for the story/campaign, stay away from that cheesy junk and unleash crazy hell with the multiplayer), only ass-kicked by Goldeneye.
Also, voted for Wii. Why? Cheaper, MUCH lower power consumption, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl kthx. _________________

I agree with Chiel, the PC is the best console (ever and always will be), but out of the list, the Wii. GBA outsells PS3, so it can't be that great, and the Xbox is made by those tyrants microsoft. QUICK_EDIT

Chiel is right the PC is the best console, you'll find more games for it than the other consoles, and the best part is that this console can be upgraded.
Anyways from the list I voted the Wii. It really impressed me, since at first I thought it was going to be a novelty toy, besides Brawl.
My cousin got one, and I have to say it's quite fun, since it's a whole new experience, as I never expected to get physically tired playing a video game (Wii sports boxing mini game).
And Super Mario Galaxy, I think it's creator was on drugs while making it, too abstract (got me a while to get used to the camera).
And I haven't played Brawl, since it isn't available here, yet.
In short I voted the Wii, because it gets games that you won't find in the other consoles; and that the other consoles have similar games to those you can find for PC.
Well, I guess I'm thinking of the Wii as a secondary console to the PC QUICK_EDIT
PC is the best multi-usability console ever. Well, why? I don't own a PS3 nor Wii nor a Xbox 360. Plain and simple. Reason? "PC is..." _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT

Yes, the PC kicks every other console in the ass and face 1 million times over... unfortunately, it is quite costly to purchase all parts neccessary (unless you have a laptop, but they aren't as good as desktops when gaming) to immerse yourself in the best games. _________________ Destroy to create. The PC is king, but a PS 3 is practically a PC, so it gets my vote I suppose. It is hideously expensive though... so I probably won't ever get one. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT
HEY!
Where are the modern portable consoles to vote on?
My vote goes to the Sony Playstation Portable (I got one and only one bought real PSP game: Wipeout Pure )
(The reason is its software that allows almost everything if you got one of those firmwares that allows it)
I got the following on it:
a 1Gb Sandisk Memorystick
a USB cable (extremly important )
Wipeout Pure (US version)
Wipeout Pure (Euro version)(This one is in ISO form on my Memorystick)
Tons of MP3 Music
2x Sega Mega Drive Emulators (for compability reasons I got 2) and a whole lot of ROMs (most of them are Sonic and hacked Sonic games)
Gameboy Color emulator with some ROMs
a Nintendo 64 emulator that dont work very good
a Notepad pad program that I never use
The ability to run ISO's like (my pirated GTA Liberty City Stories & Sonic Rivals1 and the pirated Euro Wipeout Pure, I dont count it as pirated as I got Wipeout Pure US edition)
and some other stuff QUICK_EDIT
I liked the original Xbox, but I have, and will always be a PC guy. I like the internets, all of them really. My first video game was Doom II for the 95 (it scared the shit out of me). You can't beat the chainsaw. period. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
360 is the best out of the list IMO. I would have bought a PS3 if it had better games, but 360 has good exclusives like Gears of War and Halo 3 (Multiplayer sucks compared to Halo 1, but I needed to finish the fight ). Don't really care about paying for Live, it's only £40 a year. Bargain.
I despise Nintendo stuff. Their consoles are the weakest (N64 DID have some good'uns but nothing to redeem it) and I don't see the need for "family entertainment", getting up and flailing your arms around. I don't like Mario compared to the old Sonics on Mega Drive, just ironic they are now integrated with Nintendo's crap... it's sickening.
I guess ive been more of a Sega/Sony guy, PS1 still has the best games on... QUICK_EDIT

So portable consoles you say. My vote would go to a laptop, though they're not really "portable".
You know playing PC games and having Internet anywhere is quite fun actually.
Anyways, I don't know about the other new portable consoles, as I don't own any of them (my last one was a GBA sp, not counting the laptop of course ), but I've heard that loading times in the PSP are too long to be enjoyable. QUICK_EDIT

Mammoth Tank. Nuff said.
As for best, "console", not Personal Computer, the Wii takes my vote.
I loved RE4 Wii Edition, and love Brawl. God damnit, Brawl is sickeningly addictive. Its literally overwhelming with the amount of features it has...seriously.
XBOX-360 is ok, but I see nothing of interest that I could not get on a PC. Halo is quite possibly the most overrated game in existence, I have never seen something driven more by hype rather than actual value. (the only games 360 has that hold any appeal are shooters and I have plenty of them)
PS-3 is garbage. ztype it. It is pathetic in all ways. All it has going for it is MGS4 and Resistance 2. And one of those is just another shooter. How shocking.
PC is not a console in my books. (its superior to all 3, however)
Also, I share Carno's sentiment about retro games. GE, Quake, the oldies...gotta love em. (well, I can mod Quake I also, so yeah ) _________________ YR modder/artist, DOOM mapper, aka evanb90

Yeah, PC is the best out of the three but its not fair to compair PCs with consoles(can be made better, internet, ect., ect.). Handhelds, hate them all. I wont spend an insane ammount of money on a PSP when I have a gameboy. DS's I dont like much and still too expensive for the half hour a week I would play it. Laptops I use but not as often as my PC. _________________ Comcast: Yo dawg we herd yo were downloading, so we put fail in yo modem so yo cant download while yo failin! QUICK_EDIT
Gameboys are good for when you are little and take long road trips. Consoles are good for playing games on a large tv, never having to worry about minimum requirements (or having your game lag), and enternaing your freinds with split screen. The computer is good only if you upgrade it and put the money into it, but it has can be used for everday non-gaming sutff, you can access the internet with it, it allows you to do, and if you DO have the best specs, you can have the best gaming experience. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. I gotta say the Nintendo 64 is the best of all consoles. I mean come ON. It had RUSH: San Francisco, Donkey Kong 64, AND the original Star Wars Pod Racing!
ztype these new "super advanced" consoles. N64 pwns all. _________________ "Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there." -Adam Young QUICK_EDIT
