I know I can very well pre order both, but if had the choice between one of them which would it be? From GameStop, I heard the release for Tiberium was Sept. 2 and RA3 was Nov. 11. Which will it be?

RA3. #Tongue

Why? Plain and simple...unless you're itching for some hot FPS action.

Don't do it man... There is good reasoning behind all the negative fan opinions on RA3; it looks like EA is going too far with it, making it look gay (bad).

And there's no telling what Tiberium is gonna be like. EA could do it as they did RA3 (badly, most likely), or not. Tiberium does sound pretty cool. I just wished they'd ztype off with GDI, and focus on Nod, or better yet, BOTH. MAKE CAMPAIGNS FOR BOTH GDI & NOD, EA. PLEAAASE!!!

... I'd say Tiberium... it has potential to be a really cool sci-fi RTS/Shooter... but RA3? I don't know. I'm losing hope... We'll have to wait and see more info on the game; both the games, actually. I'd wait.

I'd say go with Tiberium, since I know EA is pretty good with FPS' and I have no confidence in RA3 whatsoever (I expect it to be worse than TW tbh, concerning both gameplay and story).

Tiberium, as I said before, EA single handedly killed the RA universe. Unless someone mods it to look dark(and take out the retarded Laz0r swordzZzz samuries) then I sure as hell aint buying it. And yes, EA is much better with FPSs then I think all other genres.

the units (all two of them) that they really showed for red alert 3 look ok to me, although I kinda rather have my navy and then have my land force rather than a kinda amphibious mix. The sickle looks awesome though. Tiberium on the other hand I am weary of it. It isn't the same division of EA who make the C&C games, so they might not make it like Renegade. Renegade was alot of fun, even though it does have it's flaws (Renegade laggs alot of my comp, yet I play battlefeild 2142 seemlessly). I really like buying tanks and guys ingame rather "earning" them on B2142. (Although I think it would be more fair if they had the credits coming in solely on harvesters coming in so that not-so-players get a chance rather than having the increases difficulty of beating an opponent who will just get better while you're staying the same. From what've seen, TIberium only has the "titan" and the "orca" for vehicles. I hope there'll be all of them. plus playable Nod and Scrin in MP. (I wonder what Renegade would be like in a 3 way battle....and optimized.

I'm with this guy. Wink Tiberium looks better to me than RA3 ATM, the the screens they released were enough to make me groan in disappointment, IT'S TOO ZTYPING ZANY! Go with tiberium dude, you have the potential for some good FPS action there.

I'm doing that to RA2, if I ever get 3D skillz and I get Moscow's vengeance finished I'll move on to RA3.

RA3 FTEF (Guess what EF stands for) It might be the successor to the zany RA2 but this is a case of people not wanting the sequel to be like the game before it. It'll give C&C this horrible zany reputation we could really do without.

the reputation affects you personally? And what about all the people who actually liked Red Alert 2's Style? Not everybody wants a game where you gas innocent people (and if that pleases you...). I think Lt, you are trying to make ra1 darker than it actually was and ra2 more light hearted than it actually was. Red Alert 2 is actually my favorite game is the series.

So what am I gonna do? I have a ten buck gift card to gamespot, anf they want 5 for the pre-order. So I could get both. But, truth be told, Red Alert 3 comes out 4 days before by birthday. I won't have to put a cent down for that! Tiberium comes in septermber, so I guess I will get that. (I can have cake and pie!)

Like C&C has had a decent reputation since Tiberian Sun, Albrecht. It redeemed itself with RA2, then Renegade came out...

This is really the reason why I do have some confidence in Tiberium. I hated Renegade; just like all C&Cs that were made after it, it was really childish compared to all the C&C's that came before it and hopefully the crew working on Tiberium won't have the same childish mentality.

Bittah you're a genius. Even TS has the really n00by cutscenes and some retarded unit designs. I mean come on! An armoured battle suit (wolverine) I can understand, but a 30Ft tall walking cannon? You'd be able to see it from miles away, hide in a ditch then blow it's leg off...

The reason I would pre-order this is because there are like absolutly no games at the gamestop that I don't have, and I have this 10 buck left over from another game I bought. So it's like I have to wait for something new to come out.

Hence the 'ADD Generation' of gamers, according to a Petroglyph forum poster.

Let me see. Another C&C with tank spamming (gee they're all tank spam...), or something thats not spamming tanks, and actually requires some brain skills?

I'll take DEFCON please.

Someone needs to understand that flashing lights and pretty colours aren't what classes as entertainment unless you're near braindeath.

What I want to see, is in Supreme Commander, an option to instead of using the unit graphics, to instead use the 2d symbols (all the time instead of only when zoomed out). That way, you can enjoy large battles with less lagg.

Entertainment is a matter of taste, and in matters of taste there is no arguement (there's an old latin saying something around those lines...)

Back to the pre-order question, I asked on the EA forums if I should pre-oreder now, or wait until the pre-oreder bous comes out. The Tiberium guy (like Zone runner or something) said he can't confirm anything, but that I should probably wait. I haven't seen anything on the RA3 board though.

For playing Bioshock or STALKER, perhaps? I played both of them on the lowest specs with my laptop but they're nowhere near as immersive. Graphics for graphics sake (Crysis, for example) is different to graphics as a tool to make the game more immersive.
I've always bought games based on their gameplay qualities because (until I got this card) I couldn't play any games on high quality. I just now have the luxury of running them at full quality. Besides, I could never have played Supreme Commander or World in Conflict on a 9700 Mobility (I could play the former but at 15fps when virtually idle). Plus, it's more future-proof so I can play games in 4 years time on the same card.

Your argument would make sense if I had two cards in SLI or something along those lines. An 8800GT is just enough to keep going with most games for the next few years.

I'd wouldn't take either. One is good looking, but boring, the other full of options that are designed so that players will use them (the latter has some options, but no one really uses them, as they can just spam instead), but sooooo un-immersive graphics.....

I would take the game that had both immersive graphics & detail as well as very deep gameplay worth digging into in the long run.

I have to disagree with what you say about DEFCON. The feeling of coldness and emptiness is what makes the game so good. You're not meant to be immersed in the concept of war as such, you're isolated, disconnected from reality and indifferent to the deaths of millions of people with each missile that hits. It's unfortunate if you can't really see that.

You plainly cannot stop the deaths of the people, and that is especially bothersome once you zoom in and start hearing sounds...

Though the begining music isn't as good. I'd rather have something action like which moves onto a normal default music - as if you begin to understand what you re loosing. Would be epic.

Maybe some calm music, with modern day pre-war sounds in the background. Sounds of sports broadcasts, music...gradually cut off and replaced with the sounds of the inevitable death of humankind.

I wonder if when red alert 3 comes out, all the people who rush/.tank spam/are generally lousy people to play with on CnC3/KW will move to red alert 3. If so, then KW would be the game to play.

As for RA3 mods, it will most likely be possible to rip from KW and bring the graphics over right? (there isn't alot of .w3x lying around for public assets.)

Who thinks that the second expansion to CnC3 will be announced by the time that RA3 is released?

Mike Verdu officially denied the rumored second expansion to C&C3...

And you know what guys? I've never actually played DEFCON. I just happen to have seen it in a bin in a store, I read the back, saw the screenshots, which were nothing special.

I was judgeing a game by it's cover. No idea it had good audio in it (it dosen't explain what you[Clazzy, Carnotarous, Gufu] posted, on the back).

... well, time to hunt for DEFCON torrents. I'll see if the game is worth the hunt... or I could just go back to that store, and... open up my wallet (which is surprisingly full nowadays)... actually, I work at that store (formerly known as The Source By Circuit City, which that was formerly known as RadioShack). I get a discount. In total, after doing the math, I'd be paying roughly
$2.50... I'll see if the game is worth my $2.50.

Not everybody wants a game where you gas innocent people (and if that pleases you...).

RA2 on it's own was a great game, it just doesn't do what the storyline says it should, I liked RA2, it was my first PC C&C. Maybe RA1 wasn't as dark as I say, even so it's a hell of a lot less zany than RA2 and that's what I'm after, not too dark, just turning off the huge floodlights and instead having some vehicle headlights and Gun-barrel torches.

And no, gassing innocent people doesn't please me, it's just the starkest example of the darkness of RA1 I can think of.

And get tiberium, it's made by different people to the other EA "C&Cs" and therefore I have some faith in it.
