Subject description: Another historical unit

Now I made the famous Renault FT.17 tnak from France.
This light Tank was the MBT in WW1 and the most used tank in WW2.
I could write much more about it, but I think thats enough Very Happy
The Voxel is complete (VXL.file;HVA.file;remaps) and ready for download. Cool

They are not glowing white...an the colours for camouflage are correct

I think you uploaded the wrong file

and the voxel is way to small for RA2, seriosly test it ingame before upload, if you dont have it simply download it.

That, is migfection. Nobody else ever gets close to that. And most of it's in the normals anyways, the normals and shape. if you look I bet the colour is good but not pixel perfect. The shape combined with the normals gives the appearance of shading but I doubt there's that much. Quite clever really.

Miggy uses blueprints and photos and paints normals by hand, he also uses photoshop pcx files I believe for skinning.

even though yes its very high standard, this is probably average work for Miggy as he always strives for perfection.

this is why i hate realism voxels by people who can't do it properly.

yeah, I gave up after my spitfire and challenger. Now anything I do may be "inspired" by a real bit of hardware but it never "is" the vehicle in question.

Yeah the reason why? RA2 is cartoony, so they use a scheme to make units stick out.

Also camo if not done properly looks incredibly bad.

RLY_Big Tank for example makes cool tanks but his camo 99% of the time spoils the effect.

Focus on RA2/YR voxels instead of real ones.

AG, no C&C's have camo...so just saying RA2 is cartoony is bullshit.

However.
In my opinion the unit fits good to the Ra2 style.
Its supposed to not realy look like the real one.
The player shall only think "man; this tank looks like a renault..."
The only accuracy I want is the body and the ground colors. If I wanted to do them 1:1 I would do them for Generals or TW.

and Add remap it's the 18-27 colours you want, those are the best ones.

Add it after you've finished the rest of the voxel.

In VXLSE, go to >>Scripts>Colour Scheme>Others>Kill (2-15) and (239-255) Colours

Also it seems to be using ts normals which is a common mistake. (is it even using normals?)

If you can't take the logical advice, don't post I say.

Also everyone has different talents e.g. pd is exe hacking.

Your talent at voxels is limited at best, I would advice move on or take some advice.

If I remember Mig Eater took 4 years to perfect his voxeling technique.

Anyhow congrats on maxing a dustbin voxel.

The entire color scheme in that voxel needs to be remade.

Finally don't give ammunition for me to troll you with.

So next time, think before you open your mouth.

Did DCoder ever make one?

Ever make a 554kb AI for YR? (default is 135kb) like I said we all get skills? How about you Carno? Changing your display name every few months Rolling Eyes

I gave him pratical advice which I've gleamed off professional/skilled voxel artists who don't have the time to comment.

If I say something is good/crap I mean it and have some logical arguement, unlike all those spotlight bumps.

I love how quick you compare yourself to DCoder.

No, I actually am more of a writer then making mods. Also, Dispite our disagreements, I am glad somebody agrees that everybody screaming spotlight when a voxel is posted is the wrong thing to do. This isn't spotlight material.

Looks like you haven't seen what dupl3xxx found out...
Set it to AN5.6 to TS then the two boxes in the bottom right to 15 (top) 5 (bottom)-i.e. a ratio of 3-1.

Spotlight bumps suck, I hate them too. However you are not dcoder, you are AG and as AG you can ini code, you know that. This guy is new and doesn't know what he's doing yet. Give him time and maybe he'll, ohhh, I don't know...

The problem is you expect everyone to turn up fully experienced in the art of RA2/YR modding, like being born miraculously aged 21 and fully formed. Which aint gonna happen.

You gave advice, it's god you did and by all means continue, just stop with the anger at anybody even slightly contradicting you or not obeying your almighty ruling.

You've done good to this community, just don't counter it out with flaming and trolling...

Hmmm the colors need to be fixed....and the normals to RA2 range.
But in size I was right....dont know who that noob was who said its wrong
