Does anyone else recognize the rollers in front of these tanks from somewhere else?

They look remarkably similar to the older TSD harvester's before the rollers got updated to the newer version.

Something like a magnetic grinder to attract troops and grind them, EA said. RA3 might be a megafail.

Red Afail 3: We do every possible stereotype and cartoony unit idea to crush the original Red ALert feel of the game...

They look like a shortened version of the lasher's grinder.

Heres another pic i put together with some keypoints.

Now on the bomber the jets are centralized into the wing, wings not only provide lift but are also the best places in an aircraft to store fuel. The outlets don't end after the wing but in the middle so you have this whole area of the wing that will blacken and distort technically weakening it. Not a smart design concept I think.

I like the turret design on the anphib APC but what is the thing on the back of it? Massive mortar or something.

The rotor design i think is totally useless and un-soviet, also a copy of the one in KW.

Looks like there will just be singular soldiers instead of squads.

Exactly. Unfortunately I don't they can go back to being serious after RA2. I enjoyed playing RA way better than any other cnc to date.

So I think a mod is in order, well a chain of mods. To attempt to fix this mess of a story EA has got going that we used to call CNC.

The bomber's nose area also sucks, hard.

That hole was to shoot(?) infantry out and land them on beaches, in the trailer I thought I saw.

Smart contra-rotor helos.

Singular soldiers = more firepower

Alright, alright! I'm going Laughing
First the post RA thing then I'll link it to TD with a bit more stuff.

Will that do? Wink

I this game sucks so badly, I reckon they did a survey for all the least liked parts of other games and stuck them together... that people, is most likely right... Rolling Eyes

How about a shut up? Seriously, I'm an EA-hater and RA3 looks fun and appealing. Yes, the design are somewhat lacking technically and there is the over-cartoony feel and some totally wacky stuff. But overall it's more good than bad.

Who cares about realism? Are there Tesla Coils that can fire a few hunderd meters or XXL tanks with 2 barrels? NO! So stop whining about realism things. RA series =/= realism...
And I'm glad at least some ppl do think that RA3 will be fun...

How about this is a democracy? :p
I can think ths is a pile of crap and not buy it, you can like it and get a copy, EA then has your euros for being unoriginal, you will eventually tire of the game and might even come to a point of view similar to mine. At the end of this time I've lost nothing except this arguement, but EA still has your money...

IIRC the wiki article for C&C has a bit about RA3 and it says that a tem member has been quoted saying that they're deliberately going for the cartooniest things they can. This is bad news for me, it is however good news for comic book fans who are also gamers and would like to see what happens if C&C and popeye or something collide...

yea, unfortunately the truth is, concept artists and character designers..etc are pressured from the ones with the money on top.

they typically want things that look cool or whatever else fits their marking scheme. Also note EA is not the only one. Neutral scary!

Yea their are implausible things because who ever was either on deadlines or just was not a aircraft engineer and did not have the time to research!. >.<

however, I am actually liking the work put into this. The amount of detail and how "pretty" the graphics can be. which is a modder's approach. #Tongue

Also, I really hope that there are NO strings of RA-remakes or MyRAspace or MyTS or MyTD..etc.

I would hope more original IP comes in. but...oh well.

Yeah I too think this game will be fun, but like i said to Jud, they could have mixed more conventional designs with RA tech.

Also I just read a magazine article stating that RA and the cnc universe don't join up. Failed experiment or something. Even though we can come up with some pretty cool theories as to how they all connect *cough* BTS I can say I'm pretty happy with that.

Finally I like the pacific experimental look of the allied aircraft, the fact you can believably build buildings on water and the insaneness of the water itself.

The water is fuckin amazing. That fact alone, may convince me to try this game, some way or another.

The dual rotor configuration is more or less a synchropter. Old design used for heavy lifting. It also eliminates the need for a tail rotor. It's also a highly stable flying platform. But since the image appears to show a tail rotor when none is needed, and in fact would cause the heli to spin if it was running, it's obvious they are using the dual rotors for the looks.

The massive mortar cannon I believe shoots some kind of hopping walker out of it, but I'm not sure.

Nothing surprises me anymore from EA.

Cheers,

Rebelmoon

Two things that annoy me most in RA3 are:

- Armored bears with capes. Holy ztyping shit, I hope we'll see subfactions like Libya with suicide camels and Cuba with nuclear parrots!

- Superhigh-tech faction with Transformers and hover tanks that in reality should only be capable of growing rice.

OMG, RA3 looks so ridiculous. Since the technology is advanced enough to make all graphical dreams come true, the game design becomes more and more stupid.
And those units look like as if all the designers drive a VW bug and used its nose design on every unit.

indeed there are some (or at least as real concept). (click on image for more info)

insane Nazi war machines at WWII.
here more about their crazy designs.

Yes, I know about the Ratte and the Maus tanks, but they where so big they would destroy the roads and bridges they drive on... Also, a double-barreled tank would destroy it's turret after a few shots because it puts way too much stress on it...

Dream on about cnc3-era mammies with the barrels mounted above the turrets that recoil without the tank. #Tongue

Although there is a damn seckzy allied bomber...ah.

Chiel, when they show the new Terror Drones, mind doing another one of those MoeAlerts? #Tongue

(Umm brb, Chiel's RA2 TDrones are coming)

That bomber must be the only reasonable unit so far. I might actually voxelize it...

If it was omaha then it might have been ok. Sword, Gold, Juno, Utah then it was epic fail. Or it might have been at Le Harve...

There is also this concept of what looks like an enlarged UAV. I should also note that part of the filename is "allied_drone".

Hopefully we will see something like this in the final game.
