NOOOOOOOOOO!
Not text editing of maps!!!
How to make FA2 work with a correspondant mod...(i.e. my tanks, buildings, terrain look, etc.)
I've realized that changing the directory in the option window is useless...

reinstall allowing it to support mods and mission disks when you first install.

SHP's and terrain need to be in an EcacheXX.mix... Not loose in the directory, Voxel files can be loose along with HVA files. The only reason this isn't working for you as far as I know, Is because your FA2 Is reading different files from a different directory. If not, then download another version of FA2 and reinstall. What version are you using, by the way?

When you install or first start it up there is option to read mods or not, it set to yes by default.

Then just put rulesmd.ini and artmd.ini as loose files into RA2 directory.
