Hello.
I want to make such a building but I wanted to know from you if it's possible, so not to find after weeks of work that it's hardcoded not to work.

A depot especially for multiplayer, it belongs to my ally; when I put my unit on it, I loose control and give it to my ally; likewise, I have a depot for my ally's units.

Possibile solutions:
using permacontrol logic, fire upon friendly units, weapon range very short (AreaFire maybe?), no limit for given units.

I don't see how this would be possible without hacking the RA2md exe to allow for this new logic... for more than one reason too.

* PermaControlled means it's permanently controlled. And on top of this, I'm fairly certain it doesn't work on buildings. The only way I could really see this happening is if you coded your own multiplayer map to handle this.

mind controll works on buildings! PLay the game befor talking Wink

As far as I know, this would be hard to do. In other words, exe-hack...

And you cann't mind-controll allide units, at all...

You would have to test with the permanent mind control and AttackFriendlies tag. If the range is 1 and the base is 3, you could essentially have it mind control only units that drive on said 'depot'. Also, permacontrol is unlimited last I checked. Only thing bad about it is the little mc ring above them.

Um... Force fire does work to mind control allied units, provided the unit is
one that can be mind controled. So im pretty sure the at all.... part is a lie Smile

Heres my theory this may or may not work and I can't test it as I don't have
YR installed atm. Make/copy a service repair depot so it works like a normal one.
Then give it a mind control weapon with no limit(and maybe pernament mind control if that works for a normal weapon)
and give it a range of 0, then when your teammate sends unit to use repair depot
force fire on it and it might mind control it. Remeber this is a theory that I just
thought up now so don't shout at me if this doesn't acctually work.

One problem is that these traded units won't be able to be mind controled
by the enemy which if there was any yuri players online that would be bad.

I knew it was too simple and cool to be true! Very Happy
I mean that I missed the problem with not controlling already controlled units...
The little ring isn't a problem

I thought I could clone a control tower, so half the work would be done. But! even if I change (clone) the warhead, I suppose I can't change anything to make a "donated" unit still be mind controlled by enemy, right...? I mean different weapons/warheads would make the same unit attackable for every wepon/wh.

I tried to make it possible thru map modding but I can only change house for predefined units; from what I know, there's no such a variable in which to store units mid-game and use "change house" on the var.

PS
I WOULD hack the exe, only for this, if I'd got the knowledge... Knowing a bit of C++ doesn't help too much Smile Maybe RockPatch/NPatch will implement the logic in the near future (I pray)

Use RP2's syringe, just tell it to change targets owner.
