Strangely enough - it depends on the language I am speaking. Tan-ya in english and Ta-nya in russian.

There are two ways of saying it, and i have heard both from people related to most C&Cs devolpment, so both are pretty much the norm.

Russians pronounce the a and Я differently, so it prolly goes like gufu said.

I think every accent-free German speaking person will say Tan-Ya.

I said it like tanya. That meaning I said "on" with a "t" in front of it (but not like one would say "ton") followed with ya (like a greman saying yes).

Every forum I go to there is at least one of these sort of things. At least I'm a bit more at home in a matter of speaking as there's more Europeans here. Ta-nya

Я = Cyrillic letter "Ya"
Таня = Tanya

It has nothing to do with R.
That's why I was so angry about EA using it for RED ALEЯT 3 or something.

No, I'm not Russian or of Russian descent. Laughing
