Hi all, i'm not an expert on tiberian sun but i love this old game (like it even more than the newer tiberian wars ) Laughing

I can model things in 3D, tanks, planes, ships (if you guys intent on that)

however, i have no idea how to put them in TS (which i will learn) and i dont have any idea for what i should make

Feel free to post any ideas here or PM me, i have a lot of time right now.

To convert stuff into TS shouldn't be the problem.
But some examples of your work would be nice. Do you made buildings too? Since there are still a lot to do, someone who can create GDI buildings would help a lot.
Maybe you can create a remake of the C&C TD advanced guard tower to show your skills. (textures aren't important here, since TI has its own collection)
Though the last word about hiring staff has Aro.

With remake, you mean i have to make a kind of MK2?

I am another staff member of TI, Its nice to see a proactive interest in TI. Wink


what LKO is asking you to do is an art test to determine where your skills are at this point.

Just model out the good ole C&C 95 Guard Tower.

send us renders top,side,front, 3/4 perspective.

If you wish to spicen it up with some creative liberties its up to you. but keep in mind we're looking at your modeling skills. not to mention some lighting and rendering too.

Not sure what modeling program do you use?

I myself use 3ds Max 2008 but I also have Maya. So if your going to send in the model. have it as either a .max/.mb scene or .obj? unless LKO has different criteria for deliverables.

i think it's quite easy, but still gives the possibility to make it very detailed.
So feel free to add stuff if you want
In addition it could be implemented into the mod (if it's good enough) as some kind of derelict building in old TD bases. So it wouldn't be useless.

Thanks for the helping hand,but i cant remake old stuff, i create stuff from my own heart and head.
I have some things that fit the CNC style, i have some tanks, planes, and turrets that look like nod ones.
I'm trying to find them in my old comp (which is not here right now)

But this is what i made before i heard of this mod.
If i change the textures, they could fit as nod vessels dont they?

this might be a problem if we have sketches or designs which you should follow. Though right now we don't have much concepts, so you would have a quite free hand.

outgoing from the pictures you have shown i would say no (sorry), because i still can't judge how good you can create buildings and animations for them, since this is the most important part for which we need help imo. The guard tower wasn't that good imo.
You have shown that you can create some decent models, but imo they don't have much detail.
So it would really help if you can show more work from you.

im working right now on a special kind of tank, not a mammoth, but a tri barreled tank! (not that we need a tank like that)
And its going to be more detailed than ever!

As for the naval vessels, i was just wondering, the only time you see REAL naval vessels in the tiberium universe is those nod battleships from CNC3.

So i was wondering, how should the navy of GDI and NOD look like then?
Since there ARE naval vessels in the concept!!

ehh.. :S and all but really if your gonna work on a team sometimes you don't get to do all these "OMFGEPIC" units. the idea is not about how much detail is an eye for aesthetics..sometimes you got to "polish turds"..do things your not totally comfortable or are obvious "EPIC" units..

the Adv.Tower is rather unfinished. as you can see there are quite a bit discrepancy between the reference and what you have.


.so rather than work on some triceratops of a tank, rather stick to this instead. think of it as being a commission. We asked for something specifically, you cannot simply quit and expect we want something else instead...Neutral

while, I can say that we're very loose when it comes to our "concept-to-production art". pipeline but you gotta be able to take in critique and feedback...

We could do with a couple more 3D artists as making buildings etc. is quite a fair deal of work.
With a bit of practise and motivation I say you could have what it takes to become a part of the Team.
Keep in touch, I'll discuss things with you at some point.
Oh and its not that I don't like boats, its just that Navy in TS is a bit of a No-go (for skirmish anyway).
Anyway, keep posting up your work, Following Ickus' and LKO's tips you will definitely improve. Smile
Oh, and thank you for the Interest in my project.
