Trying out my new mod with a friend and we get two crashes; one is a divide by zero error and the second is an exception access violation. Anyone know what could cause this? I know I haven't given much detail, I'll add to this post later.

Using ETS 0019, hexed for 4th tib type.

the divide by zero crash could be due to a false value for art.ini debris logic (MaxXYVel and MinZVel) or in rules.ini on normal debris

it can also happen if you use walkrate=0 or any other speed adjustment key that divides by its number to define the ingame speed. (e.g. art.ini rate=0)

Urm, it pointed to some ConvertClass and AlphaLightingRemapClass stuff when i punched in the EIP. Also something with DSurface_DrawSHP.

Woah, I have no idea what that is about Confused You know any more about that?

More info: The exception error seems to happen totally randomly, and only to one of us (me). The divide by zero error happens to both simultaneously. I've looked through my code but I can't find anything that might do a divide by zero error at all. Sad It seems to only happen when some units are dying, but it doesn't seem to care what, it might be infantry or mechs, although not buildings (yet). Next time it happens I'll upload the except.txt.

Never touched or looked into Covert and AlphaLighting Classes, DrawSHP would make sense if a SHP unit is being deleted, the others though are for palette and alpha lights etc.

Noo that was the other error >< the randomly occurring one. I have an idea though; I tried to use e07sc01/02 to give units built by different sides different colours (GDI gold, Nod black) but it seems that the enemy units are all drawn in the same colour as yours regardless of whether it is GDI or Nod. I'll put that back now and see if that helps.

Been doing a little testing and despite getting the AI partially working I haven't been able to recreate either IE...

Edit: Haha, may have found the reason for the exception IE: WEED is used for both the weed infantry and weed harvester art.ini entries... I can imagine the game having a bad time with that *fixes*

Edit2: Seems to be going okay, I found out that for some reason the Nod AI (not GDI though...?!) has re-enabled itself, using all the normal TS units in the correct way (save superweapons, which I dismantled). So I had a quick war with it, and no crash Smile

I now have another problem with multiplayer, and I thought rather than make another thread I'll use this one...

When I try to play my friend online using the internet service instead of LAN, we get a massive Ping time. Upon clicking Go, I wait upwards of 10 seconds before the load screen appears and then my friend's load bar never moves. Waiting another 30 seconds starts the game, but disconnects and plays against the AI isntead.

?!
