weather control device
this is my atemp to revive the concept wcd, I'de say I did a good job with it, I made so that it looks like something WW made, which took me a LOOOOONG time but I think it was worth it , better than the ball machine
I still didn't make the crystal in the middle, since its size will depend on the anim, it's finished (the one on the right is the final) smiff told me to post it here, so here it is, and here's a link to the concept,

buildup, I made the crystal, it is in the colours of the gap generator crystals, do you think it needs to be changed, also,what do you guys think of the buildup? I like it for myself, which is a hard thing to do , btw, this is a version with no AA, that's why it looks like it's resized, I'll render the AA one as soon as I know the ctystal colour

Banshee, sk8erkid and i and those i forgot can make them from scratch and texture them, so what did he do so special?

all I can say is check the offical "ball machine" buildup, see before you talk , though is you think you can do a better job, I'm always ready for a challenge

GREAT stuff. Just two nitpicks: buildup still needs some more frames at the beginning, and crystal should be bright blue. Also, when de device is charged, there should be lightning flashing between the crystal and the four support tower ( how'dya call them?) QUICK_EDIT
Forgot to mention this before, spidey, but just recalled, the cystals are not curve unless theyre clean for manufacture..if they wanted to use it for reflections, id bet itd be polygonal. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
here is the anim, though it's missing some stuff, while the claw is openning, there should be electricity charging the crystal, also when it's opened they should be going, then when you fire, the giant prism goes into the sky, with electricity around it, the electricity is tesla anim, like in the official wcd, though knowing my 2d skills, I just didn't bother screwing it up
also you can see that there is a HUGE pallete problem, so I'm asking could the pink indeces be edited to ones that could fit with the anim? so that it doesn't affect other buildings or units?, I hope so

Nice improvement. In my opinion the four support beams are to quick in the firing animation howabout keeping them on thought the entire firing animation? What does everyone else think? On the bottom where the two differnt laser colors are at I like the one on the left. QUICK_EDIT

I've been feeling quite nostalgic these last couple of weeks, been lurking alot on these forums, so if I ever do find that model, I'm going to finish it and release it, I highly doubt anyone would have any use for it now though tbh.
With that said, anyone have the concept art for this? Could come in handy tweaking this thing, I'm sure it wasn't very accurate.
I wonder how many of the old community members are still active..in any case, for anyone who's out there, that's a big hello, and I hope you're all doing great, with your mods and other affairs =) QUICK_EDIT

I'd stick it in PreRA2 for the hell of it.
Even though I don't usually do concept stuff...
