Hello people, I'm Shakar. Recently, I've been putting a mod in the planning stages (No actual work in the game itself yet) and I'm liking what I have up so far. My mod is called Tiberian Sun: Secrets of War.

This mod takes place five years after the FIRESTORM campaign, but it's more of a campaign mod, following the story of a GDI commander who is working with GDI as he would any other friend. But due to Nod having recent advances in their technology, GDI also made advances in their technology as well, but both sides were keeping secrets from them, and their own forces. When you, as the GDI commander, finds out about a terrible weapon in the making, you break off with a couple of other GDI commanders and form the GRI, the Global Resistance Initiative (Still need a GDI-Like Logo for them XD), to keep their former GDI allies from unleashing this weapon, thus forming a civial war in GDI. Nod, actually being amused, helps the GRI several times, but still fights them.

I plan on having the mod be usable with Skirmish, with some new units and buildings for each side like a Railgun Turret for GDI and a Tiberium Laser for Nod, thus their new techs and all. It's still in the works, I'm using Gangster's Tiberian Sun Cameo pack he has up for download, which I got permisison for use, though I'm still needing alot of new cameos for some units and defiently the buildings. As a note for the mod, I'm disabling the Cyborg Reaper and the Juggernaught, reasons will be on the site link there. I am also strongly aware of the site not being completed, I just finished the beginning of the GDI stuff before the making of this post.

So far, most of GDI's stuff is done for the beginning of the mod, as I improve on the mod itself more units and buildings might become available.

Another Note: All the Tiberian Sun cameos you see are placeholders for better ones, hopefully i nthe same style as Gangster's Cameos, though GDI and Nod will have different backgrounds, same with the mutant units that will be available to the different sides.

I'm trying my best to give one side something to counter the other side's new stuff, while keeping their stats balanced as well.

EDIT

I have the Nod stuff almost completed at this time. So far, the only ready sections are as follows...

GDI, GDI Infantry, GDI Vehicles, GDI Aircraft, GDI Buildings, Nod, Nod Infantry, Nod Vehicles, Nod Aircraft

So far, those are the only areas fully available. I am aware of two units missing from each side (Mobile War Factory and Limplet Drone), but I do plan on having them in the mod still, both with their own graphics for the seperate sides. For now, those two will be disabled, but I will enable them in later updates. For now, I'm just getting the two major sides set up first, Building and unit wise. Then once the sides are set up, I'll start work on the campaign, following GDI. For now, enjoy!

Are you focusing all your efforts into making one awesome campaign or do you plan to do a Nod campaign, or mutant? Mod looks cool, I like.

The mod website looks great and is informative. However, unless it's a new slogan, there is a spelling mistake on the Nod overview page. It says, near the bottom, Peach Through Power.

For those that have noticed the GDI Buildings missing their cost/armor/power areas, I have put most of them there now... Most of them are put in, but not all of them, I know...

As for the Limplet Drone and the Mobile War Factories... I don't plan on having them available in the first release, until there's actual reason to in the storyline. The Limplet Drone's however, will be replaced with a different kind of drone in my mind... I'm not revealing what it does yet though. ^.^

Recently, a virus hit my laptop (Where all of my Tiberian Sun stuff is stored, and I am now unable to boot it up. I'm working on getting it fixed, but the mod itself (Not the data on the site) is going to be on hold. HOPEFULLY, I will still have the INIs which I have worked on barely to disable the units that won't be used by players... I am still able to work on the site, just not the INI files. Until my laptop is fixed, Secrets of War will be placed on hold.

Yes, the mod will be in work once again. I have all of my CnC stuff back in order, and the forums my mod is using will only be temporary... Unless I get hosted here, or Banshee makes a redirect link to my mod's forums. Anyways, this does mean the mod is back in work. Smile

GDI satelights have been shot down, hampering the survailance images in which we are getting our info from... Also, sadly, GDI communications with the Philidelphia have been hampered and jamed. More info here.

Okay, well, since I'm taking my time, meaning progress is slow... I finally made a concept for the new GDI defense structure in the mod...

This is my concept art so far for the "Rail Cannon", GDI's most powerful Anti-Ground Defense... The Rail Cannon, how ever, is using a stronger version of the Mammoth Mk. II's Rail Gun, but in exchange it needs a LOT of power, and it WILL have a longer cool down between shots due to it's power... If you want to know how much power this needs, think of it this way... Bascially, every one you build you need at least one more power plant to keep power... Now then, I need to decide if I will put a build limit on it or not... I'm going to go with that I will.

I see you have got (C) Shakar 2008 in the bottom-right hand corner.That is a big no no.
Firstly, I am pretty sure modifications are illegal/not approved, so you can't copyright illegal shit.
Secondly, EA already own the rights to TS.
And to copyright shit you actually need to buy the copyright.

..Other than that...

alot of it looks like public stuff, and there doesn't seem to be much different. When i see the screenshots I hope to change my mind!

The mod and all of the custom stuff is mine <_< I'm leaving the original credits in there as well with the added ones for the mod >_> So I'm only claiming copyright for the story I'm putting in, the maps made for it, any new graphics as well as the custom VXLs made for it, unless it was made by someone else. So I'm not stealing anyone's work <_<
