Here is another unit for my mod.
Its the Goliath Medium Tank, the tech2 version of the Lancer Missile Tank.
Better armor and a 105mm maingun making him to a dangerous enemy on the battlefield.
Ingames tomorrow...as always.

Looks too flimsy to be a tank, and the term Goliath is an oxymoron for the vehicle. Other than that, its ok.

Also, 3MB .gif...

Shading wouldn't go astray, the details look good though. Is the name Goliath tank meant to be ironic?

You know the Lazer is a new type. They use lazy light particles, so the Lazer shoots slower.

That way the Lazer beam can sneak on unexpecting soldiers because he's so slow.

The unit isn't centred properly, in the gif you posted the units centre of rotation is on it's right side.

If you look at this one for example you can see it rotates from the centre of the unit.

To fix this you need to make sure that there is no empty space around the vxl & also set the offsets/bounds in the header so they are equal to half of the units dimensions (If it's width is 40 make the min -20 & the max 20 etc).

This could help you to make turret looking less than laser turret
(I think back parts of the turret are still too thin), especially UDES 19 picture (105 mm cannon).
http://members.tripod.com/Strv102r/strv_2000.htm
That's the only think I see wrong.

Yeah the UDES 19 Tank looks a bit familiar to the one I used for inspiration.
I will see how big I can make the turret so that it looks like a tank, but still fits with the design in my mind.

Now the offsets are fixed, the turret got bigger and some colors where changed.

Also I deleted the animation in my first post. so the loading time gets shorter.

I have read in some article about mammoth tank that inspiration came probably from Nazi tank fantasmagoria die Ratte (superheavy and two-barreled) and Sweden UDES-XX-20 (tracks). The reason why this light tank UDES hasn´t been accepted was high price. It has remained as fully functionable prototype. Revolutionary parts of this tank is unmanned turret (safety reasons) and two parts of the body (manouverability). Wink
Well, Fafnir TNKD in my mod has been inspired by UDES-XX-20 (Corruption of Power in annoucments on Revora).

ON-TOPIC: I think this version is the best. Wink

The Maus had a 128mm gun and a 75mm, it's probably just that they wanted people to see it and go "AAAAHHH! Was one gun not enough?????????"
