Rage Wars
Subject description: New Mod
Oke I have to admit, Nations of the rising sund failed.
To many nations, to many units and to less modders.
But know, I can proudly annouce Rage Wars.
After some weeks of work we (Worksoft Studios and me) can make it official, that Rage Wars WILL come and WONT get cancalled.
About Rage Wars:
In Rage Wars are two factions:
The Western Federation (Nord and Southamerica, Australia, UK) and the Central Republic (Central Europe, Russia, Middle-East).
After nuclear holocaust, the world is in flames and two teams fighting for control.
The Plot is simple, and just a quick backgroundinfo for the skirmish only mod.
Units:
All Units in Rage Wars belong to 3 different tech-stages on the techtree.
Tech 1 is the forst and most simple stage. Only Infantry and light Tanks/APCs are available.
Tech 2 includes much more different vehicles, like tankdestroyers, artillery and transport units.
Tech 3 has the most devestating units. Prototype units and heavy tanks are now available.

A quick battle
Just to show some ingame screens.
1.): Before building a big army I have to deploy my base and just defend it with some small Tech1 Lancer and Avenger Tanks
2.): Now with enough money I build up a smal amry for attack
3.): My enemy doesnt fall back and allready killed most of my Tech1 Units. Good for me, that reinforcements will arrive soon...
4.): I broke through his lines and are destroying his HQ.
5.): Victory is close....except debres, nothing is left from his base.

Avenger - Light Tank
Prologue:
The Central Republik Armory just, got finished, so I will post some background information, screens and other important stuff for every unit here.
Please notice, that all units are just in 1.1 Beta Stadium

Primary Weapon: Heavy Mashinegun
Secondary Weapon: none
Attack: 50
Healthpoints: 225
Cost: 500
Armor: Light
Techlevel: 1
The Avenger is primary designed for fighting against infantry and targets without or light armor. Its own armor is light, to keep the weight low and speed high.
Its 12,7mm mashinegun has a firerate of 1200 shoots/min.
To bad that no one ever thought about armor piercing bullets.

The Lancer tank is cheapest Tank of the Central Republic.
This fact is the reason, why almost every commander loves this little tank.
His rockets can cause heavy damage to light and non-armored units.
To increase speed and mobility, the armor is to light to face medium tanks in battle.

Goliath Medium tank
Primary Weapon: 105mm Tankgun
Secondary Weapon: none
Attack: 65
Healthpoints: 355
Cost: 775
Armor: Heavy
Techlevel: 2
The Goliath tank is the backbone of the Central Republic tankdivisions.
Armed with an 105mm experimental gun, he can easily break through light and medium armor.
In addition to his firepower, his own armor is strong enough to stand against every light and medium unit, which the enemy can send into battle.
The chassis the same like the ones from the Lancer tank. Just modified to use the bigger weapon. The prototype turret got replaced by an open gun to give it a smaller profile.

This light radio controlled tank was designed to hunt and destroy heavy tanks, without the risk of wasting own soldiers.
It is cheap, fast and has a gigantic firepower. His Hesh rocket can break easily through evry kind of armor plates.
But this tank has two big disdvantages:
It has alomst no armor and the weapon has to get reloaded by hand after each shoot.

The Odin tank was designed to support the armored force of the Central Republic. He is much more effective against infantry than the Avenger tank, but his acid weapon is useless against vehicles.
His armor is strong enough to stand against the most kind of bullets.
This unit may be cruel, but this is war, not a teaparty.

The Achilles is the of everything.
This rolling destroyer is armed with two anti tank guns, which can break every kind of armor.
His own armor is strong enough to stand against most guns.
Its design is a tribute to the allied tankdestroyers in WW2. The open turret gives the tankcrew a good view in every direction.
This apocaliptic tank is only vunerable against artillery, which can hit the turret on its weakest point, the open top.

I plan to use TS infantry, which is a bit smaller than in RA2.
But maybe I will do own infantry troops, so the tanks look bigger. _________________

In my opinion that last tank is very well made, I think you need to do a bit more texturing on your voxels and they'll be very well done, like your last Publicly released tank.
I admire your modding spirit though, I'm here if you need any modding support. QUICK_EDIT
Modding support sounds good
Cause I already got some big problems with my mod.
First of all I cant do SHPs. Thats why I use public buildings and TS units.
The other thing is, that Im still learning, so I cant get SHP.files into the game.
From now on I will aks you if I have a problem with modding
And (if my mod is finish) I need Beat test persons. _________________

I'm not a great SHP artist myself. I could make some artwork for you if you like. I'm not offering full time modding support as I'm pouring my heart and soul into Twisted Insurrection but I could make a bit for you here and there. Get me on MSN or something and I'll talk with you. QUICK_EDIT
Sounds good and well I know your working hard on yur own mod (I realy like it ) so it wont be much what I ask for.
But before I realy need help I have to finish all the voxels which will still take some months ^^ _________________

Aircraft
AA _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT
Artillery will come, but not for Central Republic.
AA is missing cause I dont want to include aircrafts.
Same thing with ships. So I dont have to make a harbour and an airfield _________________

If Central Republic forces are outnumbered by enemys, they can call this weapon of massive destruction to the battlefield.
This unit is the final solution in decreasing enemy units.
But caution, if this one gets destroyed in your own base it leaves more than a bad impression.

thats no bombtruck....it has tank caterpillar tracks. it looks good but make your voxels bigger!! and also make sure AI builds these units also _________________

So, yeah, Im back and I decided these days to go on working on Rage Wars. To be honest, the project got almost cancalled, cause both SHP artists left the Worksoft Team and I have to do it now alone.
After some askung arround I finaly got a new team member. He has no voxel or SHP skills, but he has some great ideas and does realy cool concept arts,
Another thing which realy hit us back, is that RA2 messed up and I cant do any ingame stuff for the next weeks.
But I already mastered more difficult things and Im happy to be back on PPM and go on working on Rage Wars
So in the next days, I will release some of the concept arts for the Western Federation. _________________

Long time no seen...
So what happened to the mod? During the time both sides vehicles where finished the cpu memory messed up and all of my modding files got lost. So this may be the end of Rage Wars
So waht happened to me, that I´ve been away for almost a year? Just three little Words: Horrible bike crash.
Yeah so after all I think, that I have to get into voxeling again... _________________
