Just asking, did anybody tried to remake this immense building, which would possibly fit to any dictator?:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casa_Poporului

I'm somehow interested in this, maybe as an 90's Warsaw Pact center #Tongue

And now we wonder why there are still poor people around...

No,we wonder why there are corrupt governments.

I like somehow the mafia style of my city, its just its style, and its influenced by the politicians.

What I meant was that governments build these kind of huge palaces in just to "show off" or to make an "impression" to neighbouring countries. Yet they cry crocodile tears because of poverty.

That was Ceausescu.

Romanians were equal, and some had more chances in those times than now.

But these days,I can have more chances than others. And have more chances.

Pff. I know what Chaushesku has done to his people. Simply shooting him is not enough.

Also, get on YIM.

What about this one?? Idea

...photo by Eldar Vagapov, from Wikipedia

Well I think "corruption/building size" ratio isn't very clear. The Czech Republic is as corrupted as Bhutan according to Transparency International, but we have small buildings, small streets, small roads, small cities, small towns... East European countries (Geography here zones Europe to west, north, south, central, east) have larger buildings, larger streets, larger roads, larger cities, larger distances between towns and cities. Not like in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria (central Europe without Germany), etc.
I know these megalomaniacal tendentions in architecture are mostly in Russia, Belarussia, Ukraine, Kazachstan, Turkmenistan, North Korea, Germany, the USA, Canada, the United Arabian Emirates, etc. (leaders are megalomaniacal or economy should be very good) Wink

I saw there,partyzan.

I saw that the underground stations looked too small to me,when i got in Prague Laughing

Here,Ceausescu was also an demon, but also an iron man.He basicly built modern Romania after the war.

And I'm not going to do this partyzan, mostly because I don't have enought plans, enought details to create it.

Casa Poporului is close to me(30 minutes with the bus) and I can visit it.Plus,I also have relations there, and I also can visit some interesting places, lets just say,VIP...

Also,I can make something better out of it,because I can see the details, and memorate them.
