wow, nice detail! (the body is a little too small for the turret, but RA2 isn't about realistic proportions anyway so who cares.Very Happy ) I like it.

I hate when I play ROTR v. 1.0 SW and AI sends against me units from every direction and at least in half of them is 1-2 Buratinos. #Mad

Never send 30 troopers to eliminate this, it's mass suicide.

Buratino* is part of Russian thermobaric arsenal (TOS-1 Buratino, thermobaric Missile Troopers, so-called Vacuum Bomb, etc.), it has range 3-5 km (like tank), but it clears blocks of buildings (used in 1999, Chechnya).

The voxel looks nice, but I am not sure if front and back of the turret have right colour (it looks pixelated a bit), what about some grey? Wink

*Buratino = Pinochio, they have also lemonade in post-soviet republics called Buratino. #Tongue

I really like your art pack here Ariz, as well as the quality your delivering them in.

I still think you should make an RA2 enhancement mod with these though, by replacing all of the stock voxels with ones alligned more closely to those of the concept art and RA's more serious dynamic.

Also your Allied heavy tank has acouple of design flaws. The space behind the barrels not only have to house auto loaders since there would be no space for crew but it also has to have enough space for the recoil. If this area was made slightly longer then it would look more plausable.

Also the entire turret looks unbalanced, if you shortened the back alittle and moved the centre of the turret into the middle of the chassis. This will look much better IMO.

Nice Hvy Tank, but it seems like more than a heavy tank. It should be called something like: Assault Artillery. It just needs something more than: Heavy Tank.

If I'm not wrong it(Jadgmammut) is a double-barreled tank destroyer. Does it have a turret?

And the pic proves what?

It that prototype was sucessful it would be used in todays millitaries as a tank destroyer.

The guy who answers this question pretty much sums it up

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081208163548AAZ0NOk

Im not going all realistic here, I'm just saying improve the design of the voxel alittle to make it more plausable and believable.

You do know that this game has attack blimps, lighting shooting metal sticks, and mind control, yet yeah, IRL that would not work well, yet it is hella scarry!

The reason why this tank has failed in virtual fight vs. today Leopard 2 is fact it can't fire during ride (what every modern tank or modern tank destroyer can).

I don't know how much space needs Leo 2, but today smootbore cannons needs just some 60 cm (1.9 feet) to recoil.

Also size of the hole in panzer depends on used missile or shell. Those chemicals used in those are getting more explosive, some officers like to use depleted uranium, etc.

From this point there's almost any problem with this voxel (height seems to be some 2 meters which means recoil area is 1 meter long).

EDIT: Now I read that topic from link Mortecha gave,
I have to add one reason why there were almost any WWII Soviet double-barreled tanks: Soviet technicians and engieneers were trying to create really deadly multi-cannon tank, but in the end these tanks had just few smaller cannons and according to that story the response from Stalin was something like:

"Don't make several tiny cannons when you can MAKE ONE BIG!"

Maybe there will be double-barreled tanks in the future, but these will have more sofisticated aiming system (they use at least laser guided missiles anyways) + there will be just small gap between these cannons. Who knows, ROF of modern tanks is somewhere above 5 rounds per minute while they carry just few dozens missiles and shells. Also how many countries allows tanks to use roads?
I know about rich Germany with bunch of high-quality highways and poor Ukraine with destroyed roads (these two allow their tanks to use roads).

It's not about roads, but about rails, if railways cannot resist more than 70tons (in case of America and maybe Britain), you have to use lighter composites (however steel will be major panzer metal for at least few next decades).

The biggest enemy of Apocalypse Tank is the bridge.

This voxel is realistic at least a bit, however the armor of this tank seems to be just medium or light (otherwise you have to use really special transport).

Lol well aware Wink There is no need to take it to the nth degree, how about just restricting it to the mainstream more conventional tanks of the cnc universe.

Really awesome post there partyzanPaulZy, I do recall seeing a russian MBT that looked alot like a T80 with 2 barrels in an English tank museum when I was over there.

Hail to the Autobahn, Baby! #Tongue
every single bridge in germany has a smal yellow sign that tells you how much tons a tank/vehicle can weight to be able to travel the bridge and how fast it is allowed to do so #Tongue

And for this reason, give thanks to NATO for making this necessary with their constant muscle-flexing and need to move tanks around #Tongue
