Winter's approaching
Subject description: What about you?
It's starting to get cold here in Norway, there's ice everywhere. A week ago we had our first snow, woke up in the morning with an inch of new snow. I took a few photos, one in the early morning when it's still dark and one from the car driving to school (I happened to sleep over at someone in town because our house was being fixed with, i don't usually get driven to school) I'm sure Tore has got a nice amount already.
In Canada its supposed to be winter too. But instead of getting snow and cold, its warm!
I just went outside these days and its so warm, you don't need even a sweater QUICK_EDIT
Anyways, the snows gods are looking over us here is New England, they want to make sure we rake up all those leaves before we get to start shoveling.
What part of Norway do you live in? Are you far north enough for the 24 hours of darkness (Excuss my ignorance is that is so far north it is uninhabitable)? _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
The climate depends on where you are. Coast areas are warm and pretty snowless, especially the latest years. The inland and mountains tend to be quite cold. Our record is -51,4'C in north Norway and about -50'C in south Norway. Mountains and inland are a mild version of Sibir
No place is "uninhabitable", however, this place: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finnmarksvidda would be one of the coldest places to live. Hammerfest is very habitable, and so is Trondheim.
Here, we have...365 days of...SUN and RAIN. Though I can imagine what'll happen if a snow day occurs here. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
In the northeast United States we had only a flurry so far. Didn't even pile up, just melted. _________________ Comcast: Yo dawg we herd yo were downloading, so we put fail in yo modem so yo cant download while yo failin! QUICK_EDIT

Winter? To hell, winter! December we gonna have summer here!
Same. Although I'll miss seeing snow.
Fall was always my favourite time of year. Cool, but not cold, and without the annoying mosquitoes and other such pests that spring brings. _________________
Winter?
NZ has Summer now. But, of course, we get the same basic climate as usual : Rain. Chances of not raining when you wish it were. More Rain. Elections.
Note to self: Make topic about New Zealand's Elections, November 10th, tell your friends! QUICK_EDIT

I just got laid.
And the weather is strange, up here in North America... yesterday, it was so damn bright and sunny and warm, no need for sweaters. Today is quite foggy. But it's still warm, and it's NOVEMBER.

Be grateful its not cold, I'd kill to have permanent sun over here (Don't start with the whole "You need rain to grow plants!" and all that crap). QUICK_EDIT

Hmmm
All Sun = No water
No water = no plants
No plants = no animals
No animals = no food
No food = we ALL die!

well here in southern Ohio it went from being quite cold like December weather in mid-late october to being freakin late summer weather in this early part of november. seriously the high today was 74F and the low was like 48F. Only a couple of weeks ago it was lows of 27F and highs of low 40s.
I think during one of those cold weeks there was a chance of a small snow flurry but it didn't happen.
I am actually extremely sad as it pretty much went straight from summer weather to winter weather and then made a weird jump back to summer weather and is about to get cold again. No fall weather makes Ixith a very sad individual.
I can only hope that we start to get a bit of fall weather before the winter. Which I feel will be a pretty cold and snowy one for some reason....(which will suck because we already used 3 of our 5 calamity days when the frickin hurricane Ike sent shit up our way and knocked out our power for like a couple of days for most people and like 2 weeks for others ) _________________ Kalistia Crestland (2)

Ike did near nothing around Central PA. Plus I am not looking forward to snow and cold. Our driveway gets iced over alot and its hard as hell to get out once it does. So when it ices I can't drive to school or work. Plus I'm usually the one that shovels. _________________ Comcast: Yo dawg we herd yo were downloading, so we put fail in yo modem so yo cant download while yo failin! QUICK_EDIT
Snowed down south here a week or so ago.I came back from lovely sicily to snow! Quite a week that was. Then BT broke our phone line and it took them just under a week to fix it. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT

Why I outta throttle you Banshee! Having a summer in the middle of a freezing winter!
Show some respect for those of us managing to survive the cold and frozen north!
My winter starts in june and... it's not that hot, but it is not cold either... The worse we get is 12'C, which is quite rare here actually. The average is 18'C in the winter and over 37'C in the summer. QUICK_EDIT

Just cause your young doesn't mean I wont bash you for ignoring me.
Call me grumpy and whatnot people, but snow is useless, all its good for is throwing at people, and these days you get arrested for that kind of thing (over in Birmingham anyway), I used to love snow when I was three years old, now It's all cold and horrible and very very white. o_O QUICK_EDIT

I'll trade ya.
Our summers (Technically May through September) reach as hot as 40C or higher.
Our winters however sometimes reach as low as -30C. (I have yet seen it reach -40C(-40F))
Yeah, were a frozen wasteland from October 28th to April 10th.
Just be wary, our Spring has just about as unpredictable weather as it can get. We get everything shy of hurricanes here in April. QUICK_EDIT
