Number of weapons isn't an indicator of how rushed L4D is. In fact, it's been in development for around three years if I remember correctly.
I personally thought L4D was fun but not really worth buying. I got the demo and played through it a few times but I can't see how I could justify playing a game over and over that only has four hour-long missions. I'm aware that you'll get a lot of fun out of those four missions but I can't see much replay value in it. Maybe once there's more maps available it'll seem more worth buying from my eyes. I've got quite a lot of games I need to get over the next couple of months anyway. _________________

The maps are a few times bigger than CS maps or UT ones - Can you imagine to play them over and over again? Also Versus-Mode is even more fun and the AI Director makes every mission play a ew experience. Really _________________ Teammember of the German Gamers Association

The Director is essentially just a scaling AI, though. Lots of games have this, they're just making a personification of it to make it seem different. I may buy L4D in the future when the price drops but I have Mirror's Edge this Christmas and Cryostasis, Empire: Total War, FEAR 2 and various others I definitely want to get that I can't be bothered listing :p. _________________

Good game. Bad optimization.
I say, this is Crysis of Russia/Ukrain/Other countries of USSR. Plus-minus, you can actually run it.
I'm hoping it's more like the Russian Bioshock. It seems like it's trying to convey a sense of atmosphere and the idea of heat being important/the mental echo are both fascinating. Ukraine's already given us STALKER, if it can be anything like that then I'll be pleased. How can you say it's badly optimised, anyway? I know that tech demo's been released (I haven't tried it yet) but that requires Vista, so I've read. Surely it can't be a good example of what the minimum requirements are, more a case of what the engine can actually do? _________________

You won't be able to play it on high/very high without a patch (although, even that does not insure that). It runs well on medium, though. But the game is somewhat short... but then, how long can a game be, if it is about adventures of a protagonist on a ship. The monsters are powerful, unique, and rare. I don'rt have much to say about the game, other than read reactions and previews, though. So, I simply use the opinions of people who played it.

To be more correct: He's scaling the AI, decides were to find new weapons, how many Infected will spawn and were they spawn, as well how many special infected. I also couldn't believe that it would be interesting enough to play it again and again, but the game convinced me. (Which may not apply to everyone). _________________ Teammember of the German Gamers Association

You realise the AI in all games makes decisions like that? That's kinda the point of having an AI rather than just straight scripted events... _________________ QUICK_EDIT

Not really. Most games have AI for enemies which have been placed by a mapper or at the very least spawn points. Left 4 Dead can place zombies on maps without any scripts at all, as a couple of videos on youtube show from loading CSS levels in the demo and finding they have zombies generated on them. QUICK_EDIT
lol, "I'll just test this Counterstrike map... La de da! I don't need a gun! I'm alonnneeee!!!!"
*enter zombies, stage every direction*
