GW2008 Voxel comp voting
Subject description: Three days should be enough.
January 1st, voting starts now!! Three days should be enough while us judges should be done judging in few days. Keep in mind that public voting does not affect the judging process in any way.
Also Report if a image link is broken, that is all.
Also if you're wondering why theres no Poll options because I got this message when I press the submit button

Also, I thought one of the things that people where supposed to be aiming for was originality.
In any case, a wierd, wonderful and wacky load this time. I'm guessing Frosty is Icy's. QUICK_EDIT

I'll wait with my vote until the poll is up.
My favorite voxels (random order) are the Uranium Tank, Scorpion Tank, Boverlord (assuming there's a well-done walking animation) and Char3 Tank, one of these would get my vote.
And "Frosty" gets the originality award
@Roaches: It's just a suggestion, but maybe instead of a conventional poll, we could make it this way:
Everybody posts his Top 3, and 1st gets 3 points, 2nd gets 2 points and 3rd 1 point. I know it's more complicated, since votes would have to be counted manually, but it would give more accurate results.
With current voting system, even if voxel A is considered 2nd best by everyone, it still wouldn't get a single vote, whereas voxel B that only 1 person considers the best while everyone else thinks it's mediocre, would still get 1 vote more than voxel A.
EDIT: Or alternatively, make TWO polls, one with voxel 1-8, one with 9-16, and out of each poll only the 4 voxels with the most votes reach the "final" poll.

Well, compared to the TW/KW comp earlier this year, LKO, Machine, MadHQ and Paranoia didn't submit anything, and rami only submitted 1 instead of 4. So places 1, 2 and 4 from that comp are missing. Mad HQ would have been 6th or something, and while ramis submissions lacked a bit on details, technically they were above average as well (IMO at least, TB might disagree ).
So out of the Top 6 submitters back then, four didn't take part this time, including the two best. QUICK_EDIT

1: like making from the concept of old very common voxel or model,
2: reminds me strongly some older voxel or model, but still is somehow original
3: reminds me other voxels or models
4: reminds me a bit other voxels or models
5: I haven't seen nothing like this before as voxel or model

- some problems with normals or bad colour of voxels inside,
in one way barl can't be seen, wrong hva of barl (bad avoiding WW barl bug),
empty inside?, I miss remap in the front

+ good attempt on new tank destroyer
- looks pixelated (needs some blurr), bad normals?, empty inside?

3: Scorpion Tank
+ original, good details

Maybe I will fix some things on my voxel, because I have found it's bug is really big, damn RA2 engine...
@Deformat: I don't think this competition ended so bad, Scorpion is the best I think, only 2 voxels looks like trash, 1 is useless, 3 need large amount of work on fixing, other voxels need just few touches.
I think THIS COMPETITION IS ONE OF THE BEST IN QUALITY, just lacks in originality a BIT.
BTW, WW RA2 voxels don't look very well. _________________

I think the Frosty and the Scorpion are the best voxels. But.. i couldnt find a good use to them.
The mythos is another cool voxel. Why not turn it into a cool sub =s
It got my vote.
The uranium tank is cool. but boxy, and cartoonish. _________________

(Well I know I'm not doing so well.)
This is only my second voxel, and it looks perfectly fine in the HVA editor. I never got a good look at it in-game, and it's the crappy version. (I have three version will I will be releasing.) I didn't want it to be a tank destroyer, but a tank carrying around a large high powered sniper cannon. But if you think about it, yeah, it's a tank destroyer.

The reason why there are no names at voxels, is that this can influence voxels voting results.

Well, when you compare those 2 tanks, they are similar, but I can see they are 2 different tanks, the smaller one isn't resized Battery tank, but newly created tank, much more detailed, but still doesn't look pixelated.
It's like when you compare TX1138's Apoc vxl and Stingerr's Apoc vxl.
BTW, try to resize and modify the Battery tank into the Uranium tank, it would be faster to create completely new voxel + Uranium tank is really well done and despite what I have written about originality (in fact originality would be 2.5/5) this tank should be classified really high (no fatal bugs). _________________

rules are rules and have to be followed...though most competitions had lots of rulesbraking (remember the freedomstudios vxlcomp? there was a voxel shown in public before...and some other competition where a render of the unit was shown month before...)
i do not blame the entrants for rulesbreaking
but i´ll blame the judges if they do not find the rulebreakings...(but i think they will find them)
