I think I suggested this to Stucuk some years ago, but he was reluctant to implement it, so I'll ask again:

Is it possible to give the option of exporting the voxel texture with 8 bit color depth and the exact same palette used?

The thing is, people that don't use PaintShop or comparable programs for their textures (like me) currently have the problem that the bmps exported are 24-bit, which of course alters the palette. If you import the finished texture and it isn't 8 bit and identical to the unittem palette, the results are fugly.

This way, I'm always forced to convert the texture until it uses the right color depth and palette before I can start, which is somewhat annoying.

If it was possible to export the bitmap in 8 bit with the right palette right away, things would be much easier IMO.

i think it's called side view and you hit "prtscr".

I think that would accomplish the same thing, and then you could just paste in paint.
