In language.mix/cameo.mix there are some unused cameos but apparently they can't make sense in any of the palettes. Does anyone know what palette is used so I can modify them?
Or, if anyone could help me - I need the gates from both Allies and Soviets (GATEICON, GAT2ICON, NGATICON, NGA2ICON) Very Happy

I believe they use the cameo palette from Tiberian Sun.

Quite. The ones that look scrambled use the TS cameo.pal.

Thank you. But I can't find the palette... neither can XCC view it in this palette (I'd have used printscreen Smile ).

The pallete it in the TS directory in the mix files for the unused cameos in RA2's mix files that are messed up even in the RA2 cameo pallete. So if you have TS installed, just click View>Pallete>Tiberian Sun>Cameo.pal (Not sure if I said it right, not at home Embarassed)

Long time, no see...
I finally found it right there (where MT said). After numerous tries in Jasc Paintshop Pro and after searches, I decided to ask here:
Is there a tutorial anywhere on how to remap a pcx or other image file type from one palette to another? It sounds very easy but it isn't; I have the option to load a different palette but they're not .pal, they are .PspPalette.
Any suggestions?

Thanks, but I need the pictures changed, not the palettes themselves. I thought maybe I should rename the TS pal to an existing pal in ra2.mix and then view the pics with the newly renamed pal, take a screenshot, and cut the part I need (for the cameo).
Thanks God I don't need an inf shp... Smile

nooo.
If you want to change those TS cameos to RA2, extract them, open them and select thr TS cameo palette, hit Ctrl C, change to RA2 cameo palette and ctrl V, then save.

That was the problem - after googling enough, I found out that you can simply rename palette from .pal to .PspPalette and I did so; only that I now find myself at the begining Neutral That is - I found out that the TS pal I have (that one from C:\Program Files\CnC_Tools\Palettes\TS) is not the for the cameos...
Anyone has the TS cameo pal? please?...

the best way I found to do it for me was to extract ts cameo then rename it to cameo2, insert it into cnc tools RA2 palette folder and also insert it into a expand.mix file. then all i have to do is open it with os shp builder, change palette to cameo2, then choose create cameo, open in new window and save the file.

but here is the ts cameo file already renamed to cameo2, but name it what ever or keep it the same dont matter..
