APC [RA2]
Subject description: My first Voxel - WIP
*Edit: Posted this in the wrong forum, can a mod move this please?
Here's my first voxel, an allied APC with ports on the side and remapable parts. I was inspired by Melle's IFV and Apoc's APC, but I put every voxel in place myself. No simple copy/paste
Really good there, but, as I said before, it could use some armor over the tracks. _________________ Oh god how did this get here I am not good with computer. QUICK_EDIT
I'm not sure what you're saying... You say I'm just editing an existing voxel?
@azkhare: I will add the track covers later (think M2 Bradley style)
No-one is that good at first. It can't be possible. But maybe, maybe....
Meh, you're probably a god.
(I just meant that you're really, really, really, good for a first try, and that you must have some kind of previous knowledge.)
EDIT: The wheels appear not to be connected to anything (There's a space on the underside apparently, and no motors or casing below the wheelline) Last edited by Orac on Sat Jan 31, 2009 9:28 pm; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT

Read the edit I made in my first post, maybe that will explain your doubts But I really made this one myself, every voxel is placed by me. And this really is my first voxel. The fact that you guys can't believe that this isn't my first voxel is a great compliment QUICK_EDIT

And my was that plane which was looking like those planes from 1960's sci-fi (search in this section (Media Hut --> Voxels), you can find it with that recoulored tanquette). Pretty advanced on first voxel, well done.
HINT: Don't forget to have your voxel properly filled (no voxels inside are redunant), check it in XCC Mixer before putting in-game (this helps against black/white/brown/blue/yellow-hole syndrome). _________________
Don't blame the others if you haven't checked your own (in)ability in the first case. QUICK_EDIT
This one is just a placeholder because I'm not satisfied with how it looks. How do I merge body and turret in 1 voxel? I couldn't find one decent tutorial on how to do that QUICK_EDIT
And here's the béta of my first voxel. Lots of things need to be tweaked and replaced ( Track armour, turret, black lines, normals) but I'm pretty satisfied with the result. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to release this unit, I don't think it's good enough for that yet. And I'm thinking about starting something new
hmm... thats pretty good for the first voxel try, keep it up, i like your style man _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
Instead of a tank turret, try some kind of anti-infantry weapon - Gatling or something, and see if it works out.
I was thinking about putting a chaingun on top (kinda like the one Apoc used on his excellent Armandillo APC). I know the black lines look odd, and they will be removed in the next version. But I'm currently working on something new, so that will have to wait. Thx for the compliments QUICK_EDIT
It looks a bit too bright.
(maybe banshee could add a darkening function to the vxl section editor)
Very nice for a first. _________________

Ctrl B, Ctrl K, select colour, then one below "click" add, and repeat until all coulours you want shifted down are done, then select "ok". _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT
So I decided to redo the whole thing to make it look more like a Bradley and this is the result. Turret, again is just a placeholder. (Melle's Grizzly turret). Opinions please
I edited my first post, I consider this unit as finished. I added some more detail, sideports and remapable parts. Last edited by Teufelhund1985 on Mon Feb 02, 2009 12:08 pm; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
I know it looks kinda "boring" compared to the first version, but I tried making it look a little more realistic. I'm currently working on something more exotic, and I will put a lot more effort in that one. QUICK_EDIT
