Alrighty, I recently edited the warheads in TS a lot and also weapons and I fear I may have removed or renamed something I shouldn't have. For some reason 2/3 times an aircraft is destroyed it causes an IE and I don't know why. I'm guessing a particular warhead is triggered when an aircraft is destroyed and / or hits the ground but I'm unsure of which.

Any help?

Iirc, HE is used for all explosions/deathweapons. Try looking if you still have that one.

C4Warhead= defines in the Global rules.ini settings the warhead which is used for crashing aircraft and the damage which they do when hitting the ground, calculated by the number of hitpoints of the crashing aircraft and the verses value of the warhead. (by default this is HE)

That's why you should check if the warhead behind C4Warhead exists and if you made some strange changes (e.g. organic or mechanical verses could cause problems on this warhead)

Another problem could be an unusual Strength or Armor value on the aircraft, which maybe results in negative damage or something similar.

Maybe you also changed the Animlist of the warhead and it has a corrupt anim which causes the crashes.

Well the warhead still is HE and HE still exists fine so I'm quite confused I must say. I uploaded my Except to DCoder who mentioned it was a weapon without a projectile. Strange though how this is usually right when the units hit points reach zero. There isn't any buggy death anim being played or anything Embarassed.

Do you get the IE when the aircraft hits the ground or already when it gets its last hit in air?

Maybe you should also check the trailer anims as one of these is used for the crashing aircraft (don't know which).

Art.ini debris explosions should be avoided on aircraft too. Maybe you gave the aircraft one of these which makes problems with the debris that normally start from the ground and not in mid-air.
For example do 2 buildings with art.ini debris explosions cause an IE, if they stand on the same cell or share one cell. Because the debris have problems to spawn (one of the buildings is always blocking the spawned debris) the game crashes. I assume it causes a loop that building A explodes, creates debris which destroy building B and which in turn creates debris too that now try to damage building A which is already in the destruction phase.
The same problem could be on your aircraft, where the debris are spawned on ground and if the cell under the aircraft is already occupied by something else, the debris can't start and cause an IE.

Perhaps you have messed up with the paratrooper infantry that is supposed to eject from an aircraft as it hits the ground (in all of the cases the infantry unit dies immediately, but I'm not sure why)? Check the Paratrooper= flag in Rules.INI.

Edit: Woops, by "Paratrooper=", I meant "Pilot=".
